Watching the first ep now, the animation is actually smoother than was implied.

No. The Warners/Pinky/Brain were the main focus. The Doctor showed up briefly but there was a plot as to why no one was around.

I have to keep watching but with the first two episodes the first sketch with the Warners wasn't good then the Pinky and the Brain and closing song sketches were brilliant. The third episode is great all the way through.

All the songs have been excellent so far on my watch. My mind is kinda blown by the writing being absolutely the same level even if the show looks cheaper.

It's still of phenomenal quality from a story, character, and joke standpoint.
