Comcast could rival ESPN

NBC already has Sunday Night NFL, which makes them able to televise as many NFL games a week as ESPN does.

I'm not talking about NBC proper (when compared to say, ABC), I'm talking about the NBC Sports Network, which is still seen as not a serious threat to ESPN.
 


Weird article, they keep citing lack of growth but dont provide much in the way of evidence, other than the author disagreeing with their business strategy (not getting the PAC 12 contract, not pursuing MLB, etc.). That's not a lack of growth. The network's been growing steadily with the Olympics, return of the NHL, etc.
 
Those EPL rights are huge. I think they're underestimating how big those soccer rights are going to be. Look, Fox made a whole new channel just for soccer and now that they lost those rights, were going to lose that channel. NBC Sports might not be growing at a rapid pace but its not like ESPN blew up one day to the next.
