The Dark Knight Cool Dark Knight references in pop culture

Threadless is my favorite place to get tees.

I once made a comparison to when Hans Landa approaches Von Hammersmark to 360 camera spins to The Dark Knight in the Inglourious Basterds thread :word:. I was chewed alive. :csad:

I said to myself, never again.

Iron Man 2: Coincidence or not, IM2 has an interrogation scene between the hero and villain, where the villain tells the hero the "ugly truth".
Maybe. The interrogation scene in TDK was lifted from Michael Mann's Heat though. The two main characters sit down in a restaurant around two thirds into the film, which sets the scene for the rest of the picture.

Nolan stated Batman Begins was his take on Blade Runner, while The Dark Knight was his take on Heat.

Everything comes from something.

It's not like Nolan or Mann created interrogation scenes.

Obviously not. That's not what I was trying to say.

One of my favorite rappers, Chamillionaire, has some lines in his mixtapes about The Dark Knight. Used to blast this song about a month before the movie came out.

When they see me do my magic, they say "what the heck is Koopa on?"

This thread has been dead for a while, but...

Drake says in one of his songs 'Rest in peace to Heath Ledger, but I'm no Joker'
Blood On the Dance Floor says in one of their songs 'You've changed things forever, see you're a freak, like me'
And, of course, there's Pink singing in Raise Your Glass 'Why so serious?'

I think I may have heard other references in some songs, but I can't think of them at the moment.

how about that dance crew From, AGT, this year, who danced in Joker make up (to a remix of, The Beautiful People, with voice sampling of lines from Heath's Joker)

Was that actually the Joker speaking in the background? It sounded like him, but the lines were different (yes, I know there is alternative footage, but I just want to be sure it's actually him before I squeal like the fangirl I really am :p).

It's not the only one... "You complete me"

and how bout during a sequence in the trailer where I.M or W.M goes flying around destructing cars in his path (bat-pod callback)

Then it's their problem for being so anal about a mere discussion :whatever:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that line from TDK, "You complete me." a line from That gay cowboy movie (sorry, for the life of me, I can't remember the title) that Ledger was in?

No, it was from Jerry McGuire.

Green Lantern had a reference to TDK. Where Hal visits Carol and is doing his best Bale/Batman impression to hide his identity.

I don't know how that hasn't been posted yet? Tobey's half assed costume, and his overall jealousy, was hilarious. Too bad they cut the clip before Dwight went into the elevator with a TDK-Joker costume. :woot:

The irony of painting someone as the ultimate anarchist but calling him a socialist is palpable.

Side note, the quote on the sign in the foreground "A government big enough to give you everything you want..." Is not from Thomas Jefferson according to the Monticello official site. Rather it is most likely from Gerald Ford. lol
