E3: The Official Nintendo Announcements Thread

Nintendo could have had a blow out E3, they had plenty of big surprises to choose from. Dead Rising being a perfect example.

I'd rather have Resident Evil 5. Come on Capcom, I would have bought the PS3 and Wii versions.

:wow: I know Resident Evil 5 is Resident Evil 5... But Dead Rising is Dead Rising. Show some respect to one of the more enjoyable games on the 360.

"Love or hate him, Shigeru Miyamoto does know how to talk to people. After having one of the most disappointing E3 conferences in their history, Nintendo is still coming out with strong punches and sticks with their decision to reveal casual titles during their conference. Did Nintendo lose their minds temporarily? No, they made this decision based on the E3 media and he reassures us that hardcore games are in development.

During an interview with MSNBC, Shigeru Miyamoto talked about Nintendo's E3 conference, casual titles, and why Nintendo revealed what they did. Checkout a small excerpt from the interview below:

"I think that there's probably one other element to it, and that's that our view of how we use E3 has changed. For a very long time, E3 was an event where - and certainly Nintendo included - catered specifically to the core gamer. Now we look at more … an opportunity for us to introduce new concepts and new types of play that we intend to bring to the broader audience, particularly because of the media that gathers at E3 now.

So while attending an E3 event like this, they might be given the impression that Nintendo is no longer focusing on the games that appeal to the core gamer, in fact we're still working on many of those titles, but it's just not the type of event where we'll be showcasing that anymore."

This is what I was thinking yesterday. Starting a few years ago, Nintendo stopped using E3 as an avenue to show off core games, and really focus on those that would include the expanded audience.

The Tokyo Game Show should be where we see what is in Nintendo's coffers as far as their core games are concerned.

Worst interview ever. I really don't like her, she is so fake.

I agree, she is fake.

Part of why Nintendo's presentation was so horrible (Besides the games they showed) was her, she was just fake and ultimately boring.

I don't care what others say though, Reggie rocks, in his we're so rich we don't care manner of speaking.

- Dead Rising: Zombie Sacrifice
- story structure has been revamped
- new enemies
- new items
- behind the shoulder camera
- directional pad to switch items
- onscreen target for shooting
- Wiimote shaking for swinging weapons
- A button for subweapon

Here is some updated info on Dead Rising for the Wii.

It sounds fantastic, especially since I never got to play the game on the 360.

Nintendo apologizes for E3.

"Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata has apologized for the approach the company took at this year's E3 press conference and the perception that it has abandoned the "core gamers." He tells Forbes that the feelings of neglect Nintendo fans might be feeling is a "misunderstanding" and the company wants to "get rid of that misunderstanding by any means." Iwata explains "big titles" require time and Nintendo didn't think this was the year to announce any."

lol
nintendo conference has become a laughing stock

I dont know what the neck Nintendo was thinking. Their press conference was catered to the moms and older crowds but thats not who attends or covers this type of event. Its the regular hardcore gamer and they completely missed that point

Nintendo should apologize for the embarrassing E3 they had this year. Regardless of how irrelevant E3 has become, Nintendo shouldn't have given us a half-hearted attempt at this event.

Personally I think they should all apologize for E3..since they were all mediocre.

at least you wouldnt be ashamed to be at ps3 or xbox360's conference...

nintendos conference was like being in a christian day care center.:csad:

Nintendo half assed it. They might as well have taking Activision's lead and not shown up, instead releasing their own news via different sites
