Logan was great. Not the greatest of Fox's X-Men output, but a wonderful sendoff for Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart. Here's hoping Fox doesn't f**k up the rest of their movies in the X-Movieverse.

I guess I'll be the voice of dissent. I think Ed Norton and William Hurt were stronger in their respective roles, the primary antagonist was far more of what I wanted out of a Hulk movie. And the man on the run vibes were a lot more fun than the wind blowing through Shrek's hair vibes I got from Lee's Hulk.

I doubt y'all are in that small of a minority. People have such vitriol for TIH and I've never understood why. Plus Ang Lee's Hulk was so "cerebral"

My man! I really like what Ang Lee did with the feel of the movie as well, tried to make the viewing experience more like we were watching a comic book/in on, rather than just some large scale action movie.

I think in that, his results were rather mixed. And while I liked David Banner as the villain, I thought the entire ending was a dire failure in pacing. Its just, better than the alternative. TIH gave us a generic Banner played by Norton running on autopilot, and an entire extra cast that was boringly flat at best. Though I suppose this does fit with the uninspired Hulk fights, where outside of the brief Hulk vs Super Blonsky fight, just didn't have much there.

It's taken me a while to post an update after watching Logan. I didn't have the reaction I was expecting. I'll never argue anyone who says this is their favorite X-Men movie/ comic book movie and I won't disagree that this was a good movie. But after thinking about it for 2 weeks, I have to say while Logan is as good movie, it wasn't the kind of movie I wanted.

I'm not a big fan of "Old Man Logan", and while he's one of my favorite X-Men, I've only ever wanted Wolverine in limited doses; hence why I don't read any of his solo books. I feel like everyone kept yelling "Wolverine needs to be rated R!" and with Deadpool's success the studio final said "alright let's do it", but I feel like it went over the top. I thought "The Wolverine" gave us just enough Wolverine action without having to be excessively graphic just for the sake of being excessively graphic. Don't take away the R-rating, but there were plenty of times where I felt they could've gotten the message across without having to be so gruesome about it. And I know you can make the case that it's to illustrate the horrible life Logan has lived and what he had been trying to run away from; but again, I thought they overdid it.

And the end was so depressing. Yes it's noble with a glimmer of optimism with the future of mutantkind, but it was literally the death of the X-Men and it was almost like Fox saying "Your X-Men are now dead. Deadpool has shown up how to make lots of money and we're leaving all your beloved characters behind", and I got emotional by that notion than by Laura at the grave.

Hugh Jackman was great, Patrick Stewart was amazing, and X-23 was perfectly cast, and I'll never take away anything the entire production put into this film. But if I had a choice between this and another run-of-the-mill "flights and tights" superhero film, I want the movie that doesn't leave me feeling miserable inside afterward.

I never thought I would walk out of Guardians 2 wanting to see it again immediately. I enjoyed the first one, but I wasn't enamored with it like the rest of the world. Guardians is probably my least favorite of the MCU. But this movie did such a great job making me LOVE each of the characters, it has me excited to see what they want to do for the next movie.

Spider-Man: Homecoming isn't the best Spider movie for me (that would 2), but it's still a solid movie and another winner for the MCU.

Looks like I forgot to update this after watching Spiderman. The movie is so much fun! I could've done without so much Stark tech in my spidey suit, but the movie did give us Karen and the great Peter monologing the books are famous for so it's mostly forgiven. The Vulture was amazing but I really feel like Aunt May was severely underused.

I still feel Raimi's Spiderman 1 and 2 are better "Spider-Man" movies. They have that classic feel and get Peter's struggle with responsibility. But this is an awesome, more upbeat, modern take on the character.
