Too bad "Watchmen" (2009) was a flop. Such a great, brilliant and epic movie.

A list like this shouldn’t be a matter of subjective ranking. It’ll be based on an objective calculation of each movie’s costs vs. revenues.

BTW, profitability can be measured in two ways: 1) net profit (which is dollars); or 2) profit as a “return on investment” (which is usually expressed as a percentage).

Thus, for example, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 has a higher net profit than Get Out. OTOH, the low budgeted Get Out has a (much) higher ROI than Guardians. So the “winner” depends on which definition of profit you use.
