Whoever's running the official Twitter account for Paramount's upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie (@SonicMovie) seems to be well-versed in both the Sonic community as well as Twitter culture.

A current trend that's doing the rounds on Twitter is the #TenYearsChallenge wherein users post a picture of themselves currently beside one of them from a decade ago. The Sonic The Hedgehog movie's Twitter attempted to hop on this train, but had an issue as Sonic's new look hasn't been fully revealed just yet.

The tweet featurs a picture of Sonic wielding a sword from the 2009 Nintendo Wii video-game Sonic and the Black Knight, beside a picture of a simply loading wheel.

This is clearly meant to taunt fans and poke fun at the mysterious aura that surrounds Sonic's redesign - the very first poster for the film features the iconic speedster almost wholly shrouded in darkness.

Perhaps this tweet is meant to tease a forthcoming unveiling of the design. Paramount must have something interesting up their sleeve, otherwise what's the point in all the secrecy?

What do you think of the tweet? What are your thoughts on Sonic's redesign? Are you looking forward to the Sonic The Hedgehog movie?

Sonic The Hedgehog is set to race into theatres on November 8th, 2019.

The Sonic Mania Adventures mini series is one of the best things to come out of the brilliant Sonic Mania game released in August of 2017. The series saw its first episode being released in March of 2018, which had Sonic looking for the Chaos Emeralds.

What's interesting about this mini series is that they have absolutely no dialogue — something that Sonic games haven't had in a very long time — which made fans of the Blue Hedgehog love the episode even more.

Sonic Mania Adventures was releasing episodes on a monthly basis, with the 5th and final(at the time) episode releasing in July of 2017; bringing the series to a very exciting conclusion that saw our heroes fighting against Metal Sonic.

In December of last year, and just before Christmas, Sega surprised us all when they released a new Christmas-themed episode of Sonic Mania Adventures, and now they have released yet another seasonal-themed episode that has Sonic and friends participating in a snow sculpting contest; in a fantastic stop-motion paper-craft video that reminds us why we love this mini series so much.

Explore vibrant new stages and classic zones in stunning 60 FPS. Pixel-perfect graphics and new retro animations will make you fall in love with these 2D rolling landscapes.

Team Sonic Racing will not be out for a few more months but, given Sega's track record with racing games, fans of both the Blue Hedgehog and racing games are definitely in for a treat when the game finally releases in May of this year.

Sega has constantly been releasing updates on the Team Sonic Racing project, which has managed to keep fans of the series interested in the upcoming racing game, but there's one thing that has even doubters excited for this new entry: its music.

It is no secret that music in the Sonic the Hedgehog series has always been top quality, regardless of the reception the games have had regarding gameplay, concept, or even their plot — which, let's be honest here, hasn't been as consistent as their music.

Well, Team Sonic Racing has already made fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog series excited, since the game will be featuring some remakes of classic tunes from previous Sonic games. The game's soundtrack is being composed by various musicians that boasts the talents of Jun Senoue and Tee Lopes — to name only a few.

Today, the official Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel has shared a Making of the Music video for Team Sonic Racing, taking us to the studio where the musicians record theyr tunes for the anticipated racing game.

Team-Sonic-Racing_02-20-19.jpg

Sega has revealed the “Hidden Volcano” map for its upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog-themed racing game Team Sonic Racing.

Here is an overview of the map, via Sega:

Hidden Volcano is a lava zone course hidden deep within the ice-covered Glacier Land area. This area is distinguished by its lumps of ice created by the scorching hot magma within the iceberg and complicated terrain due to lava rocks. It requires calm judgment and bold technique to conquer its slippery ice roads and varying bumpiness caused by tears in the earth. At the starting line, a lava giant towers above the track and swings its fist downward to block the racers’ path forward.

Team Sonic Racing is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on May 21.

This is one of those times in which you just can't help but to thank for companies like Sega to exist, especially when it comes to their beloved Sonic the Hedgehog series.

With the latest Sonic Mania game, Sega decided to start making a mini series called Sonic Mania Adventures — which consists of short animated episodes that run for a couple of minutes; with no dialogue, and all of the charm one should expect from the beloved blue hedgehog.

Sonic Mania Adventures has proven to be very successful, currently in its second season and releasing episodes every month or so. And this creativity seems to have been let loose(in all of the right ways) to the point that Sega has released, just today, a video of Knuckles the Echida preparing a Chaos Emerald Mocktail for Sonic. Don't worry, folks, there is no alcohol in this drink.

While this is not an animated episode of the Sonic Mania Adventures at all, it does come from a similar place in terms of creativity. It may not have high-end animation, but it has all of the charm from the ongoing series.

Well, the time is finally here and we have finally gotten our very first look at the blue hedgehog in Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog live action movie adaptation.

The news comes from Twitter user Wario64 — the same person that first shared that controversial legs poster that was revealed back in December — who has found some full-body images of the CGI Sonic that will star in the movie.

Both the first poster and the legs one have been met with controversy due to the character showing slightly more human proportions, which did not bode well with long-time fans of the blue hedgehog.

This new images come from the Hamagami/Carroll website, where they even provided us with a description of this new design in terms of the Sonic the Hedgehog brand. The link to the site no longer works, however, giving these leaked images some more credibility.

Check it out:

You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone in the world who isn’t familiar with SEGA’s beloved IP, Sonic the Hedgehog. But global reverence does come with a unique price. In creating a licensing and packaging program to be used worldwide and to be applied against targeting multiple audience demographics, it was necessary to strike a balance between staying true to the Sonic brand, while appealing to a global audience, and differentiating from previous Sonic merchandise packaging.

The challenge of creating a global licensing and packaging program targeted to multiple demographics came with several strategic requirements: 1) signal a new modern take on the brand without abandoning its core essence, 2) appeal to a worldwide audience and 3) clearly differentiate from previous merchandising efforts.

Our approach was to create a system that was versatile and modular, so that various Sonic IPs including Classic Sonic, Modern Sonic, Film Sonic, Animation Sonic, and other events couldbe integratingintegrate seamlessly within the baseline packaging look.

Scroll down to see the final established packaging look HCI created for all of the licensed retail products within the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise!

In 2007 the gaming community witnessed characters from the Super Mario Bros. series crossing over with characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series, for the first time ever, when Nintendo and Sega released Mario & Sonic at the Olympics Games for the Nintendo Wii.

Mario and Sonic have been teaming up pretty much ever since, with Sonic making a few appearances in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. series, and other sports-related games featuring Nintendo characters; putting an end to the classic rivalry between both companies.

Sega and Nintendo will, once again, be teaming up for the upcoming Olympic Games, as Sega recently announced a brand-new Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games ahead of, well, the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games; with a new trailer that features Tokyo 1964 Weightlifting Olympic Champion: Yoshinobu Miyake.

Sega is really going all out when it comes to keeping Sonic fans excited for the upcoming Team Sonic Racing, with the action-packed trailers they've released, the Team Sonic Racing Overdrive mini series, and fantastic stage music tracks that give us an overall idea of what the soundtrack will be like.

Team Sonic Racing will not be the exception when it comes to featuring a fantastic soundtrack, something considered a staple of the Sonic the Hedgehog series, and Sega are not afraid to show it off; and for good reason.

Today Sega has released a new music track for the Wisp Circuit track, which is the first track revealed for Team Sonic Racing, and is a remixed version of "Planet Wisp" from the fantastic, and severely underrated, Sonic Colors on the Nintendo Wii.

Team Sonic Racing is only a few days away from releasing, becoming available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, on Tuesday the 21st of May. Because we're getting closer to the release date, Sega has been really upping their game by uploading trailers for the game more frequently — in order to get players excited for this new racing title.

The latest trailer for Team Sonic Racing is focusing on Character Types. Much like weight classes in Mario Kart games, in Team Sonic Racing character statuses will be determined by three factors depending on their size: Speed, Power, and Technique.

Speed characters like Sonic will be able to go slightly faster than other categories, and will have access to a special item called "Burst". Power type characters like Knuckles are stronger and can smash through some obstacles; "Spikes" and "Void" are their special pick-up items. Technique characters like Dr. Eggman have a better grasp on handling their vehicle, making those tight turns a breeze to take. They are also less likely to lose speed when driving on dangerous terrain.

Picked up Sonic Lost World on 3DS for $9.99 it's an okay game though some wonky controls.

There's a rumor going around that Nintendo may be closing the 3DS eShop soon, so I'd say now is a good time to pick up any digital stuff for the handheld.

Oh man that sucks just bought a ds for the first time this week! My 4 year old is obsessed with Sonic so I grabbed that along with the two sonic boom games, working our way through those first. I didn’t hear good things about boom, but I’m finding the ds game enjoyable.

It’s been pretty fun having a sonic renaissance through him, have gotten to catch up on a lot of games. Generations was really awesome, green hill zone in that game is pretty much a perfect level, we play it a lot. Unleashed.... really wanted to like because my kid loves the idea of werehog sonic, and the 1 or 2 levels of regular sonic we’ve gotten to play have been sweet, but we just could not get through very many werehog levels before we gave up. Slow, long, and unfun.

Should the main series get a reboot via gameplay?

Roger Craig Smith stepping down from voicing Sonic. Really unfortunate, as I really liked his voice and thought he made a great first impression with Sonic Colors.

See, that's the thought I have in the back of my mind, and I kind of just hope they find a new voice actor. Schwartz is good, but that would feel too similar to when the 4 Kids voice actors became the main actors for the games as well after they started off with Sonic X.

Not a dig against 4 Kids, mind you, and if Sega had some contract in place with Schwartz, to keep the film voice synonymous with the games, then okay.

I see jason griffith is still in there so I deleted that lol
