This was inspired by the outrage from the old VH1 thread. Cast your vote through posts between now until March 19th to vote for who you believe should be part of such a list.

I'll start with my nominations:
Smokey Robinson
Janis Joplin
The Beatles
Elvis Presley
Michael Jackson
Whitney Houston
The Rolling Stones
David Bowie
Bob Dylan
Elton John
Aretha Franklin
Adele
Queen
Prince

I'll think of a few more later...

I'd add Pink Floyd, Led Zepellin and Madonna for now.

The Doors
Nirvana
Alanis Morissette
Mariah Carey
Etta James
Chuck Berry
Janet Jackson
Jimi Hendrix
Lady Gaga (suck it I like her)

I was just going to add Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix and Mariah Carey, cool. I loved Gaga when she first came out with hit after hit, thought she would be one of my faves (and I still like a lot of her songs) but she hasn't quite maintained that standard for me to put her on my list. Muse, Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis and Jamiroquai are all favourites but I think I'll leave them off for now (unless anyone else wants to vote for them). I find it difficult to include anyone who hasn't made a global impact or is a bit too recent.

Remember for guys the list is determined by the number of nominations that the artist receives. The more nominations the better.

I left out a ton of people because I could do this all day. I got love for people like Nina Simone, Donny Hathaway, Jodeci, Brian McKnight, Kanye West(shut up), Lupe Fiasco, The Dixie Chicks(shut up again), and Colbie Caillait....Yes. I love Colbie Caillat. She's sings so lovely, don't you agree?

I love everything Colbie Callait, even the album people didn't like that she did with Ryan Tedder.

Looks like we just became best friends. Now I shall go around singing about how you're my best friend, Cartman style.
