The Ratings Thread

No show on this network can expect to be getting "millions" in live viewers anytime soon with their crazy scheduling. "Over a million" is about the very best any of them could hope for the rest of this season. Thankfully, S&L continues to kick ass in delayed viewing. The return episode ("Broken Trust") from May 18th increased from .10 demo/718k viewers > .30 demo/1.44mil viewers. That's a 200% demo gain and a 100% viewership gain already, after only 3 days. Which means the L+7 gain's gonna be massive.

I have no clue how those ratings are put together but I haven't watched a single episode live.

The CW app offers fewer commercials and extended episodes, all for de free.

Live+7 Day CW gains for Tuesday, May 25th ("Man of Steel"):

Superman & Lois: .16 > .43 demo (161% gain); 797k > 1.79mil viewers (124% gain)

CW DVR viewing (L+7) rankings for the week of May 17-23:

2.) Superman & Lois: .43 demo; 1.75mil viewers

4.) The Flash: .35 demo; 1.19mil viewers
5.) Legacies: .25 demo; 896k viewers

11.) Big Trick Energy (Special): .03 demo; 177k viewers

(Batwoman and Kung Fu did not air new episodes that week)

How TF is Walker beating this in ratings?!

It's been the #1 show since it debuted. Supernatural fanbase + likely a more conservative fanbase + a likely older fanbase + OG walker fanbase

Last night’s episode of Superman and Lois got 890K.

It's a great show, Jared is killing it as the New young Walker, he brings honor to the original character Chuck Norris made popular back in the 90s for 9 seasons (200 episodes and several TV films).

Last night's flashback drew 830K. I think I know why last night took a hit. Viewers want to see how Superman would regain his powers after that Solar Flare. Instead it was followed up by a flashback, though nice but in looking at the big picture it was not a good time to show it. The flashback could have been an extended version of the pilot.

If it was just a random flashback I'd agree and I was expecting it to be a bit disappointing in the middle of this arc - but it was clear from so early on in the episode that something more sinister was going on with the flashback that I felt that sense of something brewing and knew the episode was leading back to the main plot.

I thought it was so well done & definitely the right time to really show Clarks full journey in order to give a stronger weight to his dilemma & decision in the end.

A bit surprising considering it was up against the MLB All-Star Game on FOX and it was coming back after a two-week absence.

DVR numbers (Live+ 7-day) for the last few pre-previous hiatus eps, lol:

6/08 - 1x09 "Loyal Subjekts":

Live+ Same Day: .19 demo; 923k viewers
Live+ 7 Day: .39 demo; 1.801 million viewers

6/15 - 1x10 "O Mother Where Art Thou?":

Live+ Same Day: .18 demo; 961k viewers
Live+7 Day: .47 demo; 1.902 million viewers

6/22 - 1x11 "A Brief Reminiscence In-Between Cataclysmic Events":

Live+ Same Day: .16 demo; 845k viewers
Live+ 7 Day: .40 demo; 1.77 million viewers

Also, the final Live+Same Day numbers for 1x12 "Through the Valley of Death" were .18 demo, 871k viewers.

You gotta put that down to poor promotion and people not realising it was back again though right? Why would it suddenly drop like that otherwise?

Unless there was something else new on at the same time?
Also, summer vacation for a lot of people. My wife and I were a couple days behind on catching up on this episode as a result.

This op-ed from Forbes is pretty on point about how this show would do better to leave the CW for HBO Max, especially with Max having an HD remaster of Lois&Clark:

By the way, good to see you back hopeful, it's nice to have some of the old Superman gang back together.. like before the dark days, before the Snyder.

Rating for last night's season finale was 890K.

Last night’s 2nd premiere drew 1.09 million. Naomi did around 800K.

It was even with the Flash’s season premiere in the demo (.23) but trounced it in total live viewers (Flash had 754,000). Nice.
