Well, I was thinking...

In the FOX universe, the meaning of the "X-Man" title has changed over the years and the timelines.

In the original trilogy (original timeline), the "X-Men" were teachers, Xavier's bodyguards, researchers and agents of the secret antiterrorist "strike force" (suits + Blackbird) all rolled into one.

In "First Class", it was a fascinating name Mystique came up with (as retroactively revealed in "Apocalypse") and then Moira further suggested it to Charles at the very end.

In the new timeline, we know the X-Men (Xavier's Men) are seen as superheroes and public figures.

Now, we got some "unortodox" figures in the series:

Xavier in "First Class" (not still codenamed "Professor X")
Moira MacTaggert in "First Class" (she was wearing a suit)
Quicksilver in DOFP (at that point, Beast and Wolverine were "X-Men" again)
Magneto in DOFP 2023 (I think he was supposed to be an X-Man as well)

I would love to know your opinions on these four. Were they supposed to be X-Men? I think Moira wasn't. I'm not keen at the idea to have Xavier as an X-Man, but that's what you got in "First Class" anyway.

Thanks.

Are you asking were they supposed to be X-men in the films or comic books?
