World Web shooter trigger

What would Peter use as a trigger for the webshooters? In TASM 1, it looks like some long thin orange strip of material with something at the end that Peter taps. But I don't know what it is.

He uses a bit of copper wiring, and connects that to a dual switch with 2 electrodes on it, that when he touches down on them, the circuit is completed and it activates the shooter.
