Columbus was noted, positively and negatively, for being pretty literally close in adapting the first two Harry Potter films although some viewers thought he didn't actually get enough of their spirit or at least they felt too dry. Not sure how close or not he would be in trying to adapt an old comic book series but probably close but not quite so literally the same.
I imagine his film(s) wouldn't be too different from Raimi's other than a slightly different sense of humor, particularly in the first film, a little more slapstick (and so maybe more Flash screentime) and he might well have cast Robin Williams as Dr. Octopus (they had collaborated often although in HP he did intentionally avoid casting huge stars, Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman kind of stars but more character actors and definitely not huge stars).
