White Boy Rick is a crime drama about Richard Wershe Jr who at 14 years old became their youngest FBI informant and helped bring down violent kingpins, a corrupt ring of Detroit cops and a string of gang members.

The movie features Matthew McConaughey as Rick's father and Jennifer Jason Leigh as one of the FBI agents who began working with Wershe as a confidential informant.
Brian Tyree Henry (Paper boy from Atlanta), RJ Cyler (Blue Power Ranger) and Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes, Ray Donavon, The World's End) and Rapper Danny Brown also feature.
The film is directed by Yann Demange who directed the awesome trapped behind enemy lines in the troubles movie 71 which won the British Independent Film Award for Best Director in 2014.
Yann Demange also directed satirical Zombie Big Brother tv mini series Dead Set by Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker and East London crime series Top Boy (which is being revived on Netflix with a ten episode third season order and is being produced by Rapper/actor Drake).
Darren Aronofsky is producing White Boy Rick.
Audience test screening ratings for the movie were in the high 90's which led to director Yann Demange being given the go-ahead to shoot extra scenes.
The movie was supposed to be released in January but got pushed back to August.
