Why?
You won't like it unless you give it a chance. When you don't give a film a fair chance it's called bias.
Why?
As much as I don't trust Fox, I don't see any reason not to give the movie a fair chance if Fox does actually decide to move forward.
Rothman's gone, Trank has some talent and since we don't know anything about the film at this point, I can't see any reason to not wait and see what happens.
Even if it's a 1 in 1000 chance Fox will make a good film, there's nothing to be gained by assuming they won't beat the odds.
Tomorrow is September. It will be interesting to see if this month brings us a whole lot of news . . . or a whole lot more nothing.

But I don't want a good film.
I want a good film IN THE MCU.
And I'm fairly certain that the majority of the people in this thread feel the same way.
I fail to see how it's more Likely that Marvel would make a better film. They are movie studios not creative teams.
It's possible we'll never get a good film in the MCU. I'm an FF fan, so I'm not going to simply ignore what could be 20 years of Fox FF films.
I can't imagine what purpose that would serve.
You don't want a good Fox film, but what if they make one? Do you plan to just not see a good film or series of films because you didn't want them to be good? I can't see any logic in that.
So films that have cameos from other characters are better?Quite simply, I don't care about non-MCU Marvel films anymore. For me, they are (sometimes) fun little "What If" issues in the Marvel universe. It's the OFFICIAL, canonical Marvel Cinematic Universe that I really care about.
Remember that "What If" issue where Captain America married a female-version of Tony Stark in an alternate reality? Yeah...that was cool. Whatever. Now tell me what's happening in the REAL Marvel Universe.
That's exactly how I feel about Fox and Sony in respect to the MCU.
"Fox made an amazing Fantastic Four film that everybody loves? Yeah...wow, it really is awesome! That's great. So...what's going on in the MCU?!"
I don't think anyone is saying that FF would be better at FOX. I'm sure that there could be three solo films you could milk out of the FF without having to use characters outside of the contract. More importantly you should NEVER wish a film to bomb.
What ever the outcome of this franchise be it with FOX or Marvel everyone should give the movie a chance.
I'm always looking forward to a "good film" if a film is from Fox, Sony, Disney, whoever...if its good, its good.

This "only if its Marvel/Disney" is kinda weird...do y'all work for them or something?
Every person who says "just give the rights back to Marvel!" Needs to watch IM3

When is this supposed to start filming?

Today!
Latest reports have been that it would start in September in Louisiana, but here we are in September and the silence has been deafening.

The above link is pretty much the only 'news' we have had in 6 months or more. When that story came out, many people took that as proof that Fox was moving forward, but I'm going to remain skeptical until we see something concrete.

It's strange that there are no production reports coming out of Fox for a film that's supposed to start filming shortly. Frankly I think that the September date is just a bluff or BS. I've read spec on other sites that they have until August/September 2014 to start production or lose the rights. The studio may be waiting to see how DOFP pans out before proceeding. Fox is notoriously cheap and likely doesn't want to commit a several hundred million to the FF without some indication that at least one of its CBMs has done well.
Of course many of the people in here must be connected with Marvel/Disney. No one else could have that continued level of focused bias in their arguments.
It's interesting to come in here and see who the Marvel/Disney plants actually are though. Very enlightening!
I'm not QUITE sure, but I THINK a great movie from a studio is SUPPOSED to be a sign that they can, you know, make great movies.
