I've wondered this. It would be cool if it was.

I'd actually like to know if they include the Stark Tower (I mean LEGO Marvel Super Heroes apparently has the movie electro as a playable char and all the talks in the past about including Oscorp/Stark Tower etc. in the other movies?).

I still dream of what Rockstar could do with a Spider-Man game in terms of atmosphere.

Double jump makes no sense, I'd rather have them add more realistic/acrobatic movements instead of adding some unrealistic double jump. Imagine how sick it would be to have animations similar to Spideys movements in the movie (just watch the last minute where he's swinging through that alley, I was in awe the whole time, same goes to the crane swinging scene. I WANT THAT in a game, doesn't matter how they do it but I want that "I'm in awe" feeling again).

I'd prefer this as well. If they could translate more of the acrobatic movements from the film and it would be cool to be able to fire two web lines at once to propel yourself forward, much like in the crane scene.

You can have acrobatic movements and still have a double jump.....

Never really cared for the 'double jump.' It's like he's going beyond physics and it really isn't needed. Just like the crap from past Spidey games where you'd jump, pull an enemy up to you, then stay suspended in mid-air while you racked up a 30+ hit combo. Yeah, that nonesense can stay in those other games. Not a fan of it.

I asked them on Twitter that will the city be bigger like in Spider-Man 3 The Game and they answered:

"Even if we wanted to compare cities from previous games, we won't since it's tricky and could be misleading."

Because they even answered to this queston I believe it will be much bigger. Do you think the new One World Trade Center building could be in the game?

Just because they answered the question doesn't say anything about the city being 'much bigger.'

It would be cool to have a more accurate looking NYC though and the new WTC tower would be a very nice addition.

With the potential story in mind, with perhaps more organized crime, and a continuity of first game, I can see some potential villain encounters:

1) Mr. Negative (hinted at in ASM and a gang leader)
2) Kingpin (confirmed)
3) Shocker (is a fan favourite, hasn't been used for a long time now and would fit as someone in a gang)
4) Electro (obviously)
5) Rhino (obviously)
6) Chameleon (fits the story and has been asked for alot, never been used before)
7) Green Goblin (if he shows up in the film)
8) The Spot (I've seen lots of people ask for him, and Beenox listens to fans)
9) The Enforcers (would fit the gang thing)
10) Black Cat (fits the story and had her "prequel" in the first game)
11) TSSM Tombstone (hopefully, would fit the potential story)
12) Morbius (hinted at in ASM)

Dat List. :hrt:

I don't like how you have to slow down time for web rush.

But you don't have to slow down time. Holding down the button would slow down time, but you had the option to just tap the button and webrush towards the cross hair without slowing down time. Obviously it was harder to have as much accuracy, but after getting used to the controls I stopped slowing down time all together.
It was great to see Spider-man bounce down a hallway, alternating from surface to surface without having to run on the ground.

Even with the slow down effect is wasn't distracting and gave you a greater sense of just how fast Spidey can move. Especially without the annoyance of making a blur effect or some other glitchy feature. It works the same way the dead-eye worked for RDR...it gave you the feeling that you are this bad a$$ quick draw six shooter like the old westerns with Eastwood.

I feel like I can't really comment on villains and the story since I haven't seen TASM 2. But just off the top of my head based what we know for now:

1) Kingpin (confirmed)
2) Enforcers - hired by the Kingpin
3) Electro (obvious reasons)
4) Rhino (obvious reasons)
5) Shocker - preferably to have some ties in the main story
6) Chameleon - would be cool to try to track him down in public as Peter Parker (which goes back to the "investigative journalism" they talked about)
7) Black Cat - she has ties to the Kingpin
8) Hammerhead - keeps the mob theme of the game
9) Tombstone - keeps the mob theme of the game
10) Mysterio - don't know how to fit him in the story but has to potential to for a fantastic boss fight

I'm not sure if the Green Goblin would fit in. Plus it seems like Kingpin will be the main villain of the game. I wouldn't want GG to be reduced to a secondary/supporting villain.

4) Rhino (obvious reasons)

I rather liked the cross-species fight in the current game. For the sake of movie relatability though, I want the mech suit and an angry Russian mobster to boot

I find myself seriously wanting this game to be as good as the Spider-Man 2 game when it came out. Here's hoping.

I've been hoping that for a while now. The Spider-Man 2 game is what I hold all Spidey games to. I had a great experience with it. If they retained that core model and wrote a different story to fit, with the graphics of today, they'd be pretty much there.

For every game since Spider-man 2, I've hoped that they would bring back the swinging system from that title, and every game has disappointed me. I played through all of Spider-man 3 hoping that I would eventually unlock two handed swinging in the upgrades menu. The fact that they didn't include it left me baffled.
From what we've heard, it sounds like they may finally make what to me seems like the obvious decision and bring back two handed swinging. But after being disappointed so many times, I won't believe it until I see it.

i hope they make the physics like spider-man 2 as well; you could build up speed and momentum in a realistic way. from spider-man 3 onwards, the physics of swinging, sky-webs or not, has been lacking.

I have a feeling it's going to look a lot nicer on my PS4.

You guys need to relax, way too critical on 40 seconds of current gen footage that doesn't come out until next year. Besides, do you think they're focusing their efforts for PS3 & Xbox 360 or for XB1 and PS4? They won't release next gen footage until probably late this year around Christmas time.

I'm eager for them to fix the post-game stuff - once the missions are done, there's really nothing much to do. At least in GTA you can interact with NPCs and listen to car radio stations.

Villains need to turn into random encounters once you've beaten the game. It's really boring if all you have are races and random crimes. And even the random crimes stopped in the last game I think, once you have done them all.

Well if Rockstar buys the Spider-Man game license, then it will turn into Grand Theft Spider-Man where New York is a Island and Spider-Man and his bad-guys all say inappropriate language.

I'd buy that at full price. ^

Ultimate Spider-Man had a decent post-game replay value. Races and random events as well as the ability to free-play as Venom.

That being said, yeah they need to step up most aspects of this game from the previous installment. Also Web of Shadows wasn't good imo. Shattered Dimensions, while good, was not the sandbox feeling I came to expect from Spider-Man games.

What I'd like are some sort of chain Missions. Like the mission starts out with a robbery, you stop it. But some thugs managed to escape, and you chase after them, trying to stop them. Failing that, they could try to barricade themselves in someone's home, and it turns into a hostage situation. Now you have to try and find a way to sneak into the building, and take them down silently.

Yep yep
Plus, New Game+ feature should stay, and stick

The saddest thing about it is once Boomerang appears, Shocker completely disappears as a random street fight :csad:

Your opinion on that game is truth, it's not good, has some fun moments, but not really good
The thing in it that beats every free roam Spider-Man game is the continued New Game+
The thing it beats every other Spider-Man game in -bar none- is the ability to throw all bosses pretty far (with the absolute exception of VenomZilla
Worst boss fight in a comic book game :cmad:)
