The [BLACKOUT]crash[/BLACKOUT] was a bit melodramatic for me. The music and slow mo was a bit much, but I felt like what worked in the scene out did the not great by a lot.I'll give you the Falcon, maybe, but for me, it's pretty "OH ****!" watching Mackie move like he did.
However thehelicarrier on helicarrier action got to me, probably because of the music used to offset it, that "End of the Line" piece. It was all set up pretty perfectly from Steve's plan and then led to the big climax with Steve falling and Bucky saving him.
I just thought it worked perfectly. I may change my mind when I see it again.
People are freaking out and ready to declare war.Nobody's freaking out. I did hope for it to settle with a 90+ though.
And if it doesn't?Right now as long as it stays in the 80s I'm cool.
And if it doesn't?
Ya, i agree but the hype around this movie is a thing that needs also to be blamed.....Critics went in with really high expectations......And, probably if something in the movie wasn't to their liking, they really went to town with it........I, personally, think the movie is great, although it has its flaws.....Ugh. That New York Times review. Not so much a review as once again a commentary on how we have too many superhero movies coming out and the mandatory line of how only The Dark Knight Was able to transcend the genre. I wasn't expecting him to like it but it sounds like he made up his mind before he went in.
It's rather ridiculous that 87% of 154 critics who have reviewed the film like it, yet there is hand-wringing about how "low" it has fallen on RT. The percentage score is not like a letter grade in college, nor is the average, yet people insist upon treating them as such. Eighty-seven percent of anything is an overwhelming majority. If anyone sees anything negative in that number, they should re-examine their perspective.

But... it could be better.87% is a strong score. That is a ... well educated opinion

Personally don't find much in RT scores other then deciding on whether I will go to the theater to see a film I am on the fence about or waiting until I can rent it. After all many factors go into reviews beyond what I am looking for in a film. And that opinion is what, exactly, other than "Woe is we! It didn't get 100%!" Or 90%, or whatever arbitrary goal one might set.
That was a joke. Hence mister winky smilie. And there are films sitting in the 90's that could have done better, too. That could be said of anything less than 100%, and you could count the recent films that got a perfect score on the fingers of one hand.
