Guardians of the Galaxy Kurt Russell is Ego the Living Planet

Kurt Russell was awesome.

Loved the way the movie used his likable charm and wit to hide what a truly monstrous character Ego was. I got the sense that while he truly loved Meredith Quill, he only used her as a means to an end. The same with Peter, he may truly love him like a son, but he won't hesitate to sacrifice him. Being a supremely evolved lifeform, Ego would feel no compunction in using lesser evolved beings to furthering his ends. Even if those beings happen to be his loved ones.

Oh and we got to see his planet face! I was afraid we wouldn't. :yay:

I hope we get to see more of Peter's abilities being a half celestial. It'd be kind of a bummer if the movie left off without him developing some sort of power.

I actually thought that it was obvious from the beginning that he was evil. He was TOO nice and charming, so he was obviously hiding/up to something.

^So he's basically
every Disney villain ever.

I figured something was up when I saw that flower. Something seemed unsettling about that flower. It looked evil.

I didn't think it would go down like that. The flowers looked suspicious to me as well but I thought that it would be more like him not knowing about that and unwillingly unleash a catastrophe, and maybe joining Peter & Co. to help them fight whatever those flowers were. But DAMN. He went full f***in' evil!

Yeah as soon as I saw that flower, I knew he was evil. I didn't think the flower on Earth would play a factor in this movie though. For a minute there I thought the Guardians would save some other planet where Ego planted one of those flowers and then the flower on Earth would be the reason they would come here in IW. But guess their reason for coming to Earth will be Thanos himself.

was a lil disappointed
we didn't get to see his face on the exterior of the planet but he was a good villain none the less.

Im pretty sure i saw eyes and a mouth on the planet in a couple scenes
And yes, Kurt was great in this.

btw, I'm a little confused here. [BLACKOUT]Did Ego create a human avatar way before humans even existed to visit other planets as well. It woulda made more sense to see him as other alien avatars for all the different aliens he banged[/BLACKOUT]

"And this is where I keep all my bodies... for uh, um, business."

Yea we did. It was a huge shock that it was in there for me. I didn't think they'd do it.

[BLACKOUT]We saw his big ass face on the interior of the planet near the core. Not on the outside.[/BLACKOUT]

We see his blue eyes and mouth on the Planet one time during the arrival of the Sovereign and a second time during the end credits. Both times he's facing to the right.

Wrong. We see his eyes and mouth on the outside part of the planet in several shots as well.

After watching the movie again. You see Ego's planet face in the scene where Yondu, Rocket & Groot fly towards him to rescue Starlord & the others and in the end credits right before the teenage Groot scene.

Kurt was great in this.

I didn't see it coming straight away. I figured that some secret would rear its head as it seemed too good to be true. I didn't quite see him becoming the main villain until closer to the reveal and I realised by then the Sovereign were only minor antagonists. Also didn't see it coming that he killed Peter's mum (someone in the cinema actually gasped at that line about putting the tumour in her head).

Was also great to see a fairly accurate to the comics face on the actual planet.

A bit more like that, but more redish and smaller. No noticeable teeth, but did have light eminating from his eyes if I recall.

So he was the villain? I thought Ayesha was the main baddie for some reason.
