The new ones, especially in the last image, make me think of that one video about the colors in Marvel films in general.

Yea its lost some of its brightness.
Different scenes but

There's still time though. The Justice League movie has constantly tweaked its color grade just a month before the release.

I don't watch The Walking Dead anymore, but I was always a huge fan of Michonne. If nothing else, I'll end up watching this movie based on her alone. She appears to have a meaty role. I do think, however, it unfortunate the starpower was needed in such magnitudes for this film. Surely there are talented unknowns out there (like Gal Gadot, etc.) that could have fit the bill. Speaking of Gal, there wasn't much starpower attached to her film and it was a huge success. So starpower isn't technically necessary for a film to succeed.

You write as if Gurira is a major film star when in fact she isn't. She has become well-known for her role in TWD but beyond that hasn't had any important film roles and isn't a box-office draw. I would argue that Lupita Nyong'o, with her Oscar, is a better-known actress than Gurira. It's not "unfortunate" that either of these talented women was cast in BP. Marvel obviously hired the best actors for the roles, starting with Chadwick Boseman and carrying on through the rest of the cast.

It's really hard to tell that the vibrancy has been toned down while watching the trailer. It's more obvious when comparing still images such as these. I think the use of bright and warm colors with the costumes and the environment saves it.

Lupita is a well known actress. Good to see her getting work after her Oscar as I thought she was going to fade away after winning an Oscar.

Double Toasted had the same exact complaint about the trailer that all the Marvel movies seem to be the hero simply fighting an evil version of themselves which is getting formulaic. They even made the point that Killmonger doesn't want to be Black Panther in the comics and has a different type of costume, and that BP also had Klaw as his arch enemy whom he could've fought. Klaw would've been a very different visual, and he's already been set up in a previous movie.

Hopefully he will become the being of pure sound and will have that iconic red appearance with the sound blaster for the sequel.

DC does the same thing, with Superman fighting another Kyptonian (Zod) in MOS, and Wonder Woman fighting against another god in hers (albeit it's a male). Heroes and villains are usually dark mirror of each other, so I don't understand the complains from Double Toasted. Batman & Joker are also similar in that they're the flip side of the same coin, but Batman represents order and Joker is chaos.

The YouTube channel New Rockstars found the written language that was on the walls in the teaser poster, called Nsibidi, and it translates as “Congress Hall of the Panther King and Nation”.

I agree, Kilmonger in a panther outfit is disappointing.

Technically, its a [golden] jaguar outfit and while similar [both aesthetically and technically] its still distinct - I wonder if it was White Wolf [who's costume is also very similar to Black Panthers] would people complain about him being 'formulaic' too?

They must be talking about the Hudlin run when it comes to Killmonger.

In the Priest run, Killmonger actually wanted and became the Black Panther. This film seems heavily inspired by the Priest version. Also, I don't get the Klaw complaint considering he is in the film and all throughout this trailer. BP has to and will face them both.

There's also M'Baku. This film basically has 3(potentially 4?) villains in it lol.

Exactly. Plus we have absolutely no idea how it will all pan out. It may do justice to them all.

Iron Monger's suit was very visually different from Tony's, Yellowjacket's was very distinct from Ant-Man's.etc didn't save those films from being criticized. Doesn't matter what the suit looks like really, as long as the characters are similar in ability, people will complain.

I noticed no one is bringing up Winter Soldier. Granted, he has different attire and has a different arsenal of weapons, he is still basically Cap's dark twin in TWS.

Why do people keep calling Killmonger's suit Golden Jaguar armor? I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a Leopard.

Jaguars aren't native to the African Continent. Also The Leopard is a reference to Killonger's pet Leopard Preyy from the comics. There's also the fact that Black Panther in Africa are essentially Leopards with melanism.

People in this thread were raving about Logan at one point and he literally fights a clone of himself in that movie.

I take it that they didn't read Priest's run?

Did they miss that Klaw is in this movie? I'd also argue at this point Killmonger is absolutely the bigger arch enemy compared to Klaw.

At what point do people realize that these movies are based on actual comic book characters though?

People will complain, and you said why.

Oh, I get it now. You're here to backdoor brag about DC's movies.

You realize Chris Pine is a bigger name than anyone in BP right?

Chris Pine bigger than Angela Bassett or Forest Whitaker? nah brah.

He's certainly well known. Robin Wright is also someone I'd consider to be fairly well known given she's the female lead of one of the most acclaimed shows on TV.

They didn't miss about Klaw, because they showed a visual of Serkis from the trailer while talking about him in this context.

Check the recent resume.

Star Trek blockbusters alone put him over.

Now Wonder Woman puts him way over.

Angela Bassett and Forest Whitaker cant headline no blockbuster movie.

Fixed.

I usually ignore fanboy wars, but people are really pushing it these days.
Enough is enough.

Some interesting bits from the Prelude comic:
T'Challa took on the Panther mantle from his father ten years ago, at about the same time as Tony Stark announced he was Iron Man
At this point (ten years ago), T'Chaka is still very much interested in keeping Wakanda in the shadows
S'Yan shows up as a 'Q' like figure.
T'Challa's relationship with Okoye is going to be very fun (she's along on the mission)
One of the villains was given Vibranium bullets by a 'past employer' (I'm guessing Klaw)

Chris Pine can't headline a blockbuster movie....

Nobody went to see Wonder Woman or Star Trek because he was in it. Whenever Pine is in a big film that isn't based on an already established property it flops.
