Thor/God of Thunder - Chris Hemsworth

yeah, helmet ftw
but Short-hair Thor is not Thor
how's Hulk supposed to call him 'Goldilocks' lookin like that? lol

put that helmet on AoU(2015) Thor and you pretty much have the definitive comic-accurate look

I just pretend Hemsworth has a gorgeous head of silken golden locks tucked into his head piece.

I prefer the full on viking we got at the finale of End Game.

I was a big fan of the Road Worn look from Ragnarok.
The viking warrior look in AEG was also a great one.

also, while I think he looked cool and badass as viking/chub thor
I still don't love the actual costume from IW/EG... too much black, collar's too big, didn't like the cover over the cape, and the black arms looked rubbery

RDJ with the "relaxed fit" Mocap suit.

These "King Thor" covers have been incredible.
The KT look is so freaking badass! I love it so much. Also had the opportunity to check the King Thor #1 comic and it was very good with some amazing artwork, looking forward to seeing the remaining 3 issues...

Yeah, Ribic's watercolor art is beautiful

I still like his 2013-2015 look the best.
Same here, but I loved his attitude in Infinity War, especially in the end when he comes to Earth. I sure hope we have a few more Thor movies where he can be like that again, and maybe another Avengers flick. Marvel is lucky to have a character that is immortal like, and an actor that is still young and looks great for the part, and actually loves doing the role. Marvel, don't mess up a good thing, hang on to Hemsworth. Personally, I think you should use him to be the new face of Marvel for the next decade since RDJ is gone, then pass the torch to Black Panther, or even one of the X-Men when they finally come into play.

He should be the face of the brand now. I didn't like his gimmick and acting for the majority of Endgame though, he needs to to return to his IW self hopefully in Thor 3.

I wonder if Guardians 3 will start with Thor still being somewhat out of shape and working through his issues from Endgame, with a return to form in Love and Thunder. That might make sense. Give him a movie to transition.

I can understand having mixed feelings about Thor's role in Endgame, but I thought that it basically worked. He had the epic journey and grand entrance in Infinity War, so it made sense for him to move in a different direction for a while. Maybe it was played for laughs a little too much, but that's a pretty common complaint about the Marvel movies. It rarely bothers me, and it mostly didn't in this case either. Once or twice, but not enough to matter.

I think what was mainly lacking from Thor's journey in Endgame was some real redemption at the end. He wasn't given much to shine with, just like Hulk, which also additionally rubs me the wrong way when they let Captain Marvel shine without having been in the Infinity Saga at all before. Focus should have been on the characters with the emotional build up.

I know what you mean. But it's tempered a lot by his starring role in Infinity War and the reality that Endgame wasn't actually the endgame for Thor in the same way that it was for Tony and Steve.

Thor was there as part of the big three to throw down with Thanos, and I loved the hammer summoning moment before the fight. However, he doesn't actually do anything decisive.

Hulk is an apt comparison. I think in both cases the writers wanted to avoid the obvious choices, with Banner/Hulk making more of an intellectual contribution and then undoing the snap (rather than hulking out and smashing stuff).

I totally understand not loving the direction in either case, but I thought that Endgame did a good job of delivering a satisfying conclusion overall while still making some surprising and unexpected choices.

Yeh i'm ok with what happened with Thor in AEG. Was it great or ideal? No.
It still managed to be interesting/engaging while fitting well into Thor's journey from Ragnarok and IW.

Infinity War was mostly about Thor anyways. He was front and center with his journey paralleling that of Thanos. We got peak Thor with some of the very best MCU scenes ever including his conversation with Rocket and his arrival in Wakanda. Not to mention Loki's death, the stuff with the Guardians, the forging of Stormbreaker, facing of against Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.

Ragnarok - IW - AEG form what i like to call the Ultimate Thor Trilogy. There's a cohesive character journey throughout those 3 movies which adds tons of depth and importance to his role in the MCU.

Thor's journey in the MCU isn't over hence making the events of AEG even more digestible. Thor is, or should be, the linchpin between the old and the new. It's a character with boundless potential.

Thor has always had this clear path of being heir to the throne of Asgard and Earth's protector.

He narrowly fails or narrowly succeeds at both, depending how one looks at it. I thought that it made for a poignant story, tbh.

The Lebowski part of it was the weak point, imho, as that became a source of cheap jokes and unnecessary pop culture references. It detracted from the substance. But the Marvel movies tend to do that. It is what it is.

Endgame was a fairly sober and contemplative finale, all things considered, so the writers may have felt that they needed an extra source of humor in the 2nd act of the movie.

IW Thor is totally up to being the face of the brand. Let’s get back to that ASAP!

I wonder if Thor manages to lose weight in this film and ends up looking like the Thor of old especially with his long flowing blonde hair growing back

I doubt that. Past comments from Taika make me think that Bro Thor is here to stay. Accepting who he has become was a big part of EG and I don't see them changing that.

I bet that by the end of TLT Thor is back in shape.
Chris Hemsworth already hinted at a lot of changes to happen in TLT and he basically said the same before Ragnarok where they ended up having him stripped out of his usual armour, hair cut, one eye...

I'll say that by the end of TLT, Thor is back in shape probably without his prosthetic eye and with an uru arm.

I prefer the Ragnarok&Infinity War look. He looked so badass, with the short hair and eyepatch

I know right but more so I loved his look in Dark World and I hope he grows his hair more outwards like that

My preference would be:

Hair- A toned-down version of the End Battle of Engame, with the gnarly hair and braided beard
Body- Jacked
Eye- Patched
Costume- Halfway between his Age of Ultron and "Roadworn" Ragnarok looks: Sleeveless, mostly black, but still having the metallic discs, and with a tattered cape
Helmet- Bring that thing from Ragnarok back! just dirty it up a bit, make it a bit less plastic looking
