X-Men The Official MCU X-Men News and Discussion Thread

I wonder if they will re-use Pyro and Juggernaut.

They looked gorgeous on "The Last Stand".
Pyro looked like a teenage idol, and his costume was great.
Juggernaut (Vinnie) looked menacing, and much more agile and faster, he wasn't "bulky". I loved his armoured costume, very medieval-looking. He looked like an ancient warrior.
I absolutely love the scene where the Brotherhood and the Omegas are marching on the bridge, behind Magneto, and you can see Pyro, Juggernaut and Phoenix walking together. They looked perfect, cool and powerful.

Pyro just wore street clothes and Juggernaut's costume was...left to be desired, especially his phallic helmet. I would hope the MCU costume designers stay far away from those designs.

So , I guess that means we probably won't see an MCU Rebooted X Men film until the end of the decade at the earliest , meaning 2028 or 2029?:csad:.

Really not great.
But it is what it is.

If it means they're going to take time to get things right, as opposed to getting things out quicker , I can accept it.
The MCU was making so much money though that they could have invested a lot more long term and done both (for eg create a mega VFX studio). Yes they were small before, but with that much success and one of the only reliable franchises out there they didn’t need to stay small.

I would save the Brotherhood and juggernaut for the later films.

For the first two films, I'd like to see the Sentinels, Bastion, Nimrod, Marauders and Mr. Sinister.

I think its safe they won't be redoing Days of Future Past.

There was nothing wrong, they looked cool. It was just an alternate take on the characters anyway. Parallel universe.

Juggy looked like an ancient warrior.

My dude that does not absolve it from critiscm. Saying it's a parallel universe so it's fine is a cop out. If you like them that's fine, but to say there was nothing wrong with them is entirely subjective.

I couldn’t take Juggernaut seriously with Vinny Jones. He’s mainly known for being violent and cheating in football matches here.

To say there was anything wrong with them is entirely subjective too.

That said, they were grounded and more "realistic looking" versions of the characters. Just a different approach.

Again that doesn't absolve it from criticsm. Juggernaut is a character that has a simple but straightforwad design. But for reasons they decided to remove 90% of the armor on his body and give him a suggestive helmet. Pyro is literally just wearing regular everyday clothes. Nothing about him is recongizable. I don't expect these movies to be 1:1 to the comics but nothing from this type of approach is creative or true to the spirit.

if the fresh MCU leak of phase 6 and phase 7 is true, we better get ready for a long a** seat.

So a 2028-2029 is looking more likely in terms of an X Men team film.

As I suspected ,and feared (I'm not gonna lie), we're looking at the end of the decade before we see the rebooted versions of the X Men get their own film.

I couldn't really take him seriously either and I only know him from his acting. I think the problem for me was that I've mostly seen (and enjoyed) him playing over-the-top tough guy characters for comedic or semi-comedic purposes. Snatch, Gone in 60 Seconds, Euro Trip... He's a lot of fun when cast right. His Juggernaut, on the other hand, just didn't work for me. Maybe because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to find the character funny. Which I didn't. Or if I was supposed to find him serious and intimidating. Which I also didn't because of all the films that I had seen play his almost cartoonishly thuggish screen presence for laughs.

Damn that’s..still seriously far away if so. :csad:

Well, again, I think that the XCM Juggernaut was supposed to look like a super-strong and unbreakable, but even pretty "functional"/agile/fast warrior.
Since this version is a 100% mutant and there's no Cyttorak involved, they just chose to remove the fantasy armour and give him a more grounded costume. It was a choice.

Pyro deserved an uniform. I also think that the first actor in X1 was more suitable: Alexander Burton.

The MCU X-Men is the new The Winds of Winter.

At this rate, we're gonna need one of these to get a sneak peek at The MCU X Men debut.:funny:
