DRAMA NEEDS THE EMMY!

As for predictions...I'd say its impossible for The Sopranos to not sweep the drama categories. There is a lot of hype around shows like Heroes...but The Sopranos is probably one of the three greatest shows of all time. The Emmys will have to give it a proper going away gift.

Who is hosting this year by the way? Bring back Conan. No Ellen!

Were you suprised by Lorraine Braccos Nomination??

There a lock IMO in the main categories(Gandolfini, and Best Drama especially)

Not really, while Melfi hasn't really been useful since Livia died, Bracco was incredibly strong this season with her conflict over treating Tony. The final scene they shared was some of the best acting I've ever seen.

What really suprised me was Turturro. Janice has never really been that strong of a character, and while Turturro did a passable job, it wasn't really worthy of a nomination. That is just the Academy kissing ass.

Also, I feel they really snubbed the Sopranos supporting ACTORS. TR Knight in favor of Michael Imperioli? Tony Sicirio deserved his due as well. I mean, for godsakes, they put Hiro up there instead of Steve Schrippia who took Bobby Baccalla from being the typical stupid, fat comic relief and turned him into possibly the best character outside of Tony.

In my eyes, the entire supporting actor category should've been pretty much all actors from The Sopranos.

The one who should have gotten a nomination was Vincent Curatola who plays Johhny Sac. His performance in Stage 5 was AMAZING.

I really wished the series continued and Bobby didn't die....he was really becoming one of my faves.:csad:

Johnny Sac was always great, and should've gotten the nod at some point, but I don't think one episode was enough to justify it this year.

Its really amazing how Steve progressed the character. He started off just playing comedic relief bafoon...but he was so likable and such a great actor that Bobby just naturally evolved into so much more. Practically every supporting actor on the show was screwed out of a supporting actor nod this year.

The stuff on the cable networks like HBO, Showtime, and F/X is so far and away better than most of the crap on regualr network TV, with a few exceptions like Heroes and 24. I laugh when I see shallow garbage like Desperate Housewives and Ugly Betty getting Emmy nods simply because they've got the most popular "stars."

DRAMA NEEDS THE EMMY!

My favorite Drama scene BAR NONE...

Wow I cant believe The Sopranos was nominated over The Wire!!! This was like one of the worst seasons for the Sopranos!!! As for the actor/actresses nomination for the sopranos, the only one I approve with is James Gandonfini! The rest is very questionable, especially Janice getting nominated:rolleyes:

WHERE THE F**K IS THE NOMINATION FOR MICHAEL C. HALL?! :cmad:

I saw the first episode and it grossed me out! Its like American Psycho meets CSI.

Best comedy: The Office
Best Drama: Heroes
Best Actor in Comedy: Steve Carell
Best Actor in Drama: Denis Leary
Supporting Actor in Comedy: Rainn Wilson
Supporting Actor in Drama: Terry O'Quinn
Supporting Actress in Comedy: Jenna Fischer
Supporting Actress in Drama: Katherine Heigl
Guest Actress in Comedy: Laurie Metcalf
Guest Actress in Drama: Kate Burton
Directing For Comedy: Ken Kwapis, The Office
Directing For Drama: Jack Bender, Lost
Writing For Comedy: Greg Daniels, The Office
Writing For Drama: Damon Lindelof, Lost

Those are all that I care about.

No Shield noms? That's a pitty, I think acting wise they did an excellent job this season, especially Goggins. Well if next year is their last season, I'm sure they'll get a little more notice.

Oh and hopefully Conan O'brien and the South Park episode win.

wow Desperate Housewives has like 2 nominations...

I never liked the whole winning an emmy for guest starring on a show when we have people like Lauren Graham on GG or Kristen Bell on VM putting out better performances but it doesnt matter since they are on a small network.

Isaiah Washington might've gotten a nod except.....:o

Go Heroes, go Masi, go Terry O´Quin and Michael Emerson, go Office, go 30 Rock!

You're surprised?! I mean, seriously, who cares about that show anymore?

It´s becoming a full-blown soap opera, instead of the witty show it used to be. Marcia Cross leaving for several episodes due to her pregnancy only made matters worse. It looks like writers now just check for the obvious melodramatic twist on the list: Suspicious boyfriend/husband? Check. Cheating? Check. Pregnancy? Check. Cancer? Check. Suicide? Check.

BTW, how come Lost gets nominations for best writing and directing and two actors of its main cast and none for best series? I mean, Boston Legal, seriously? The show´s basically a rehash of David E Kelley´s old hits The Practice and Ally McBeal, it´s basically saved by Spader and Shatner.

Anyone else disappointed that Psych got snubbed, and yet Monk which has been in decline for two seasons gets recognized?
