A New Era for the Wrestling Thread

All of Indus Shur all got canned along with Xia Li.

Not a big loss overall. Wouldn't be surprised if more get the post WM cleanup treatment.

They always hindered Jinder. Maybe he can find a spot in TNA?
I dont know, i dont feel like he has the drive.
Thats my problem with him.
He is committed to look like a wrestler, but not enough to be that inside the ring.
He has all the right tools to be a good enough wrestler, but he never really had the passion it seems to elevate his in-ring work.

If him leaving the WWE makes him hungry, i could see him do a lot of good things...but at the moment i dont see him having the fire for it.

I caught up on the last two NXT episodes, Je'Von Evans is a really exciting addition to the roster, there's a lot of extremely athletic high fliers around these days but he's putting his own twist on his aerial moves and can also throw strikes and grapple, he's a really interesting prospect who guys like HBK and Regal can help develop.

Roxanne Perez is a star, her match with Nattie was fantastic, her use of leverage coupled with her technique allows her to work credibly with bigger women, and she's got the entitled diva persona down pat. I think she'll be called up to the main roster in the draft but I'd keep the NXT Women's title on her, there's such a deep Women's roster now I'd have her defend it on Raw or Smackdown as well as against the NXT ladies.

I think what hindered Jinder more than anything else is the fact he sucks. He can be serviceable in a mid card match, but he never had main event talent. When you could write off your main event as being the worst match and most boring of the night, your champion shouldn't be there. Jinder has been the same wrestler his whole career, I doubt being fired changes that. At least when Vince won the belt, it was part of an angle between Austin and Triple H and he vacated the belt the next show. We had to suffer many months of Jinder being an awful champion. Easily worst ever

My draft predictions. LA Knight and Santos Escobar to Raw maybe all of LDF. They need to move on from this never ending LWO feud. And Knight is a good challenger for Priest

Apparently at the AEWCW PPV tonight, Will Ospreay and Danielson put on a clinic.

Also Jericho was getting lit up on Twitter after the fans chanted “Please Retire” during his match with Hook LOL.

Jericho doesn't need to retire, he needs a long and extended break, and maybe when he comes back he will be wildly cheered. It's like John Cena. Back when Cena was a regular in the WWE, people got tired of him and wanted him to go away. So he does go away (due to a rising Hollywood career), and whenever he comes back, Cena always gets a massive pop from the fans and his returns always get positive reactions.

However, the one thing that Cena doesn't do that Jericho does is espouse his political views and also the alleged incident between Jericho and Kylie Rae.

These 3 hour Raw's are still a bit of a slog so I just checked out the Gable/Zayn match when WWE put it on YouTube. Solid match that led to the inevitable heel turn from Gable, hopefully this leads to a renewed push and fresh direction for Gable.

Smackdown was good again, it just seems to breeze along moreso than Raw. Aj vs Knight was a good match and sets up a cracking main event for Backlash and the tag team #1 contenders match was solid, the Street Profits vs A-Town Down Under should be a decent match. Naomi vs Bayley was a solid match, Naomi has improved a lot and the Stratton run-in was a good finish to get some heat for her after losing last week and preventing either of your top faces having to lose.

The simplicity of the booking was what stood out for me, AJ and Santos both did a bit of cheating to win their matches but it was very low key and lacked convoluted stupidity that makes the ref look dumb, and then in the segment where Triple H presented the new tag belts he didn't big dog the heels when they disrespected him and in turn Aldis got to show his authority, something he doubled down on later in the segment with Heyman. These are little things but overall add a lot to the presentation quality of the current WWE product.

I loved Solo and Tama Tonga coming out in the black suits, it added to their aura and the heat on Solo when he tried to cut a promo was great, then a bloodied Kevin Owens showed up and the physicality from Tama Tonga was intense, they've done a great job of instantly making him a credible threat, it's going to be interesting to see how this new chapter of the Bloodline develops.

Has anyone checked on Meltzer? The combination of viagra, lube and stargasms at his age could be deadly!

I was bored with Perez when she was a face, but her going heel added that needed bite to make her interesting.

Cena can still go. Not at the same level, but he can still go.

Jericho just can't anymore. He sucks the life out of everyone he works with. Only MJF came out the other side clean and that's because he had Punk to work with. The pudgy **** needs to go.

Nah man he needs to hang it up. We dislike him way more than just his political affiliation.

Very different situation from Cena and he’s hindering the young talent from getting over. At this point in his career, he did not need that win over Hook nor the belt.

LMAO! I’m sure Uncle Dave will be saying something asinine soon if he hasn’t already. Definitely agree with you about Tama Tonga, they’re making him look really good.

Never thought I’d see the day when I and the rest of the fans would intensely dislike Lionheart.

As Liv's number one Stan lol I wanted to take awhile to think about the Battle Royal. My immediate reaction yesterday was Boo Liv should have won. The Revenge Tour etc. Now as I had time to think about it and let those thoughts marinate, I think Becky winning was the right call. Liv beating Becky for a championship is more significant than winning it in a Battle Royal. Also when Liv does beat Becky (and I think she will), that should be accomplished with some help from Dominik. That's how I'd book it anyway.

I'd have also been okay with a Nattie win as a thank you to her for all these years.

I think it's often easiest to find some personality as a heel when starting out.

Jericho is a walking midlife crisis, watching him trying to have "5 star classics" with the indie darlings is delusional. I saw that WWE are interested in Hook, he's a unique talent, I'm sure Taz will advise his son wisely. :sos:

I wonder if Meltzer is responsible for the "greatest match in US history" :funny: of course had to be clarified that it was in the US as everyone knows if the match takes place in korakuen Hall or the Tokyo Dome, that's automatically 2 extra stars. I was looking at the Dynasty results, what is it with all the matches on AEW pay per views being so long? Even one of the pre-show matches was 15 minutes.

They're off to a great start with Tama Tonga and Kevin Owens is an ideal first opponent for him, I wonder if the match will be added to Backlash.

Becky is champion again when Liv Morgan’s Revenge Tour was right there.

I think they're building up for Liv to completely snap and since Becky's an actual face they'll use the title switch between them to turn Liv fully heel.

I am fine with Becky taking it. I do sort of wish Rhea had been involved. I know she is hurt and likely can't do anything physical, but maybe she could have played her music and just stood at the entry way for the distraction elimination. But I am okay with Liv not immediately getting the title after the vacation. She just needs to get it before Rhea comes back
