Best Blockbuster of the 2000's! - Nominations Thread

Same premise as the 80's and 90's threads! Nominate 3 movies from the 2000's that you feel are contender's to be the best blockbuster of that decade. On New Years Day I'll close this thread and make a poll thread with the 10 most nominated movies.

Ideally, I would have chose all three Lord of the Rings films but just for variety's sake I only included ROTK.

Much like my reasoning for 90's nominations, my 3 are not those that I'd regard as best or favourite's, but those based on the blockbuster tag for what the objective is for (relates to my first pick).

1) Avatar

Not my favourite film by a long chalk but one that made so much money and had new tech introduced to film making that went on to define the next stage of film making for years to come.

2) LOTR : The Fellowship of the Ring

Appreciate not all the LOTR films can be taken as ONE film, so purely from the fact they introduced them to us will go for it.

3) The Dark Knight

Allowed the CBM genre to be defined as creating not only critically successful comic book genre films but films that elevated to defining films not bound by genre definition or identifiable as geek or nerd core group specific.
