Green Lantern sequels and prequels!?

I heard a rumor that on many websited showing the GL movie script that there could be sequels and prequels like a certain other space saga set a long time ago in a galaxy far,far away...

Well my idea for the first film to be Hal Jordan's origin story and his first mission as GL. But the sequels should be based on The Sinestro Corps War and the upcoming Blackest Night story arc. Much like A New Hope,The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi of a certain other space saga.

The prequels could be about how the Green Lantern Coprs formed and how the Manhunters protected the universe before them and the massacre of Space Sector 666 and maybe even a young Abin Sur's adventures as GL years before he crashed on Earth and passed on the ring to Hal Jordan.

Not prequels. Maybe a Gotham Knight/Animatrix type animated DVD release a month or two before Green Lantern 2... Ten animated shorts done in different styles filling in some gaps in the mythos and hinting at whats in store...

Yea we need to wait and see how the film goes first if we are lucky to get it rolling on cameras in the next few months. Then we need to see how hal goes over, sinistro, and the alan scott(cameo) goes with the fans.
