zenith, buddy, you don't have to put for Switch in every title lol. I mean, your OP will tell them it's for the Switch. However, saying that, this is actually a special case since it seems like the addition content on Switch will not be available in any form on the Wii U version, which is total crap

feel this should be a launch title. kind of disappointed it's not. :(

this, Zelda, and Smash at launch would have made my day.

When are they just going to change the name to Nintendo Kart, already? :o

Super Smash Karts. It will go well with Super Smash Party.

So for those that didn't see the three house . If there is any that missed it.

the other games will be shown in their respective threads

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Screenshots, and New Characters/Items

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is an improved version of Mario Kart 8 that is coming to the Nintendo Switch. It includes both DLCs from the original game, as well as some new goodies. These include new and returning characters that weren’t in the original game, such as King Boo. From the images below, we can see that the Inkling Boy and Inkling Girl are taking to the racetrack, too. Some items from past Mario Kart games are also returning, like the feather.

According to the game page, it sounds like the biggest change besides those is that they have revamped the battle mode and added some new battle courses. The real question though, is whether they actually made it worth it for owners of the original game to buy this new deluxe version. This is important, as most owners of the original game will certainly ask whether this game is worth buying again. Here are 15 screenshots showing that the graphics have certainly improved a bit over the Wii U version:

The Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game page says that all of the tracks from the original game, including the DLC tracks are returning in this version. It doesn’t say anything about new tracks, though. Hopefully there are some, otherwise they’re asking a full $60 for effectively a new coat of paint, a few new characters and items, and an improved battle mode that isn’t even the main draw of the game. If there isn’t much else new, then the game runs the risk of falling pretty easily into the cash grab category (with the likes of low budget projects such as Triforce Heroes and Federation Force).
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on April 28th. Time will tell if the game is worth buying again or not. However, if you like to play online, there’s also the unfortunate fact that the online functionality of the Nintendo Switch will no longer be free starting in the fall. Nintendo has stated this on Nintendo.com:
“After the free-trial period, most games will require a paid online service subscription from Nintendo in order to play online.”

I really hate how none of this new stuff is apparently going to be offered to the Wii U version. I think I'd rather just play a little to download it there as opposed to buying it all over again for the Switch.

I feel you Tron. I sold my Wii U and Mario Kart 8 is one of my favorites of all times so I'm salivating for this Deluxe version. It's gonna see some serious play time from me.

Have they said how many new tracks it will have?

I've been saying the same thing since the presentation. I think they should include a free DLC for Wii U owners, since the battle mode was so incredibly ******. Or at the very least, charge $5-$10, and that would be a fair thing to do, since we are the ones who originally supported the game.

Now you have to buy the Switch, and then re-buy the game for a full $60 just for an upgraded Battle Mode and some new characters?

This is a company, not a best friend. They are doing this to make money and while they could offer it for paid DLC, it'd make more sense to keep it as an exclusive as more incentive for people to buy the Switch.

None

This is a company, not a best friend. They are doing this to make money and while they could offer it for paid DLC, it'd make more sense to keep it as an exclusive as more incentive for people to buy the Switch.

Oh, get that out of here. No one said it in the context of being a 'best friend.' It really just makes sense at the end of the day, especially since MK8 already sold like 4-5 million copies on the Wii U and probably isn't going to be some megaseller on the Switch. We're not even talking about a significant amount of content either, it's really just a new Battle Mode and a few new characters.

Should definitely be DLC of some kind for the Wii U platform.

The game is looking great, running at 60 fps and is one of the best examples of a "deluxe" version of a game with how much it seems to be adding to the original.
Mario Kart 8 is set to release later this month on April 28 for the Nintendo Switch. It includes all characters, tracks, DLC and karts from the Wii U version, along with tons more features, characters, karts and modes. Lastly, the visuals are obviously enhanced as well.
