First of all, not just any team... A SUPERHERO team. That's the distinction.
Also, obviously I blame the developers. I blame them right after I blame Activision. But the fans have to take on plenty of blame too because they are the reason Activision has learnt how to market these games.
Ever since X-Men Legends 2, the focus for these games has been the CHARACTERS. Community feedback between fans and the devs on what characters people want, what do people want to see most of all in the next game? Fans response? CHARACTERS. That's why whenever they make one of these games, they build it COMPLETELY around releasing and teasing out new characters... They don't even bother marketing gameplay or anything because they know that the fans who buy these games and make them money don't care.
Even in these forums now, I see more people debating which games were better over superficial trimmings like character roster, instead of overall quality and it just makes me shake my head.
As consumers AND as Marvel fans, we deserve INFINITELY better than what we've gotten in the past and frankly I think more people should be shaking their fists about it. Look at what we just got, cinematically, with the Avengers? Why is there no game to match that? No 'definitive' Marvel experience, other than a cheap, cardboard cut out beat em up?
