Thanks for posting, i didnt get up early for this :woot:

I think it's gonna end up as Penn vs Rourke at the Oscars.

Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries

KIEFER SUTHERLAND / Jack Bauer - "24: REDEMPTION" (FOX)

Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series

MARISKA HARGITAY / Det. Olivia Benson - "LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT" (NBC)

:applaud

I was happy to see Entourage getting more attention

Go Heath Ledger and Hugh Laurie.

RDJ was funny enough, but I hope that award goes to Heath. Dude earned it.

RDJ's is like a complimentary nom i think.

Most everyone else deserves it more I think.

I really wish Lost would stop getting snubbed. It deserves to be in that Drama series ensemble category a helluva lot more than Boston Legal...

Boston Legal is awesome and the overall acting of the ensemble trumps Lost easily.

I've only watched 2 full episodes of Lost (last seasons finale) but it seems like a plot driven show anyway and this is the SAGs. Boston Legal's success has everything to do with it's actors and their performances during a closing statement every single episode while Lost is full of characters who are dropped after a season or two. I wouldn't say it's a very character driven show but hey, I've only seen 2 episodes. But I have watched the entirety of Boston Legal and James Spader has deserved every Emmy he's won for the show.

The way Lost is formatted, it's both a plot-driven series and a character-driven series. Every week, the show spotlights a certain character through flashbacks or flash-forwards. Now, yes it is true that Lost has dropped a few characters after only a few seasons, but there has also been a fair share of characters who have been there since the first season and have continually proved their worth acting-wise.

Just to be clear, I'm not saying Boston Legal is a bad show, in terms of writing or acting. I'm just saying Lost is better. ;)

LOST has the one of the, if not THE, best cast on TV right now, so I don't know why they keep getting snubbed. :(

Does anyone else find it hilarious that Frank Langella is nominated for Frost/Nixon? I mean, pretty much every promo I've seen for the film, it doesnt sound like he's playing Richard Nixon as much as he is playing Admiral Ackbar...

I've seen both actors in interviews and critics say there not trying to mimic either Frost or Nixon.

Described well in one review here:

Langella doesn't simply mimic Nixon, nor does he merely foster memories; instead, he offers a multidimensional character.

Even describing it as "multidimensional," though, seems lamely limiting. Langella is Nixon. Which is not to say simply that he creates a fine, detailed portrayal of former American President Richard Nixon, exiled and disgraced by his impeachment. The performance is not so restrained as to be restricted by impersonation. Instead, the actor realizes Nixon as something more than just the historical figure and the man: He overwhelms viewers by creating a meta-character, one greater than life – yet also one that is very real. More human than theatrical, more eloquent than outrageous, Langella's Nixon ends up detailing the morally complex and too frequently contradictory imprint of Nixon – who Nixon was and how we remember Nixon. Neither beatifying nor demeaning, the performance conveys a most complex individual who contains many layers and all kinds of contradictions. A visionary whose humanity diminished him, Langella's Nixon is a politician of impressive, often brilliant intelligence unfortunately crippled by a catalog of emotional insecurities – one who once looked to the stars but also one so diseased with petty paranoia that he ended up looking down and blinded.

Exactly :cwink:

I agree with you, Loud_Silent_man and Kud: Lost desserves the nomination :csad:
