Sean Penn will win Best Actor.

Kate Winslet will win Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress.

Heath Ledger or Josh Brolin will win Best Supporting Actor.

Doubt or Slumdog Millionaire will win best ensemble.

I could care less about the rest...

I think Rourke will get Best Actor, Ledger will get Best Supporting Actor, Winslet will get Best Female Actor, it's a toss up for Best Supporting Female Actor, and Slumdog will get Best Ensemble

- Obviously, Best Actor will boil down between Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke. Penn has alot of victories under his belt, but Rourke has a Golden Globe.

- Best Actress will probably go to Meryl Streep or Kate Winslet.

- I would consider Heath Ledger a lock for Best Supporting Actor.

- I honestly don't know which way it'll go for Best Supporting Actress, although I have it narrowed down to Kate Winslet and Penelope Cruz.

Ok i'll give this a shot, even though i suck at predictions :hehe:

No guess for stunt ensamble.

- Obviously, Best Actor will boil down between Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke. Penn has alot of victories under his belt, but Rourke has a Golden Globe.

Rourke also has a history of drug addiction and abuse towards his colleagues, while Penn has yet to receive a SAG even though he has had a successful career and was undoubtedly snubbed in 2003. I say Penn is the frontrunner for the SAG and that Rourke is probably the frontrunner for the Oscar.

so his personal life will affect whether he gets the award or not? Shouldn't it be based on how well he did in the film?

Award ceremonies are becoming more and more political these days. Just look at the Golden Globes. They probably didn't give Sean Penn the award for Best Actor because of a bad history he has had with the Hollywood Foreign Press Academy.

That aside, I always heard Sean Penn was difficult to work with. Didn't he once get arrested for assaulting an extra?

 Penn was nominated. Or are you talking about a different year?

The actors nominate and vote on the actors... so yes, his personal life will probably count for something in the process... also, considering Rourke has had a pretty lackluster film career over the past decade and Penn has excelled as an actor, I have a feeling SAG will reward Penn after snubbing him for so long.

Yes... and many feel that Penn didn't win the SAG in 2003 because he had a reputation for being such an outspoken ass... so they gave it instead to Johnny Depp for Pirates of the Caribbean in what was one of the most laughable moments in recent prestigious award history... especially since Mystic River features Sean Penn's best performance of his career so far.

Completely agreed.

I disagree. He wasnt that great imo. To me it wasnt even Penns best performance that year.

Well, regardless what you or I think, the critical consensus is that he was snubbed in 2003 because of his behavior (how else would Johnny Depp, of all people, win?) and there is a strong likelihood SAG will make up for that by rewarding him tonight.

Winslet again, huh?

what did he say? I missed it. :csad:

He said.... " On January 15th' 2009, a US Airways pilot named Chesley Sullenberger crash landed a plane in the Hudson River. It's a good thing I wasn't behind the controls, because I'm Steve Carell, and I'm an actor."

It was something like that.
