I would asume it's a floor underneath the penthouse that acts as a surrogate batcave while wayne manor is being re-built

Hmm...Penthouse...news to me. But it makes sense.

Harvey Dent is the Backbone of Dark Knight

Source: Los Angeles Times
January 15, 2008

The Los Angeles Times talked to The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan, who says that "Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) is a tragic figure, and his story is the backbone of this film."

The Batman Begins helmer also mentioned that The Joker, played by Heather Ledger, "sort of cuts through the film -- he's got no story arc, he's just a force of nature tearing through. Heath has given an amazing performance in the role, it's really extraordinary."

He added that you shouldn't expect a lot of laughs. "It's a dark and complex story and the villains are dark and complex as well."

The Dark Knight opens in theaters on July 18.

Anyone here about that character list leak mentioned on rottentomatoes

I think the army is bought in to aid the evacuation, more of a national guard type thing. But also, Joker shoots down one of their helicoptors then runs over it in the semi, check out the set snaps, it's clearly an army helicoptor lying ruined in the middle of the road.

Woah...

What? Where? How in the cock do you run over a helicopter? Oh well.... Maybe you're right... I just don't think I've seen the same pics you're referring to.

I don't think it's in the same building as the condo... It wouldn't make sense. Rather, I think it's below Wayne Tower.

January 28, 2008

The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan has written a wonderful tribute to his late star Heath Ledger in Newsweek titled "Charisma as Natural as Gravity". You can read it here, and it will show you what Heath was like as an actor -- definitely quite amazing.

Also, Daniel Day-Lewis dedicated his Screen Actors Guild award for Outstanding Male Performance in There Will Be Blood to Heath, who he had never met. You can watch what he said here.

Have a question?

Was it brought up yet that one reason the signal was smashed by Gordon was because the Joker has Dawes and Batman helped him escape in order to track him to her and Gordon felt betrayed when he found out?

Heard that from someone and wondered if legit or they got it here.

Accidental Pill Overdose Killed Heath Ledger

Source: The Associated Press
February 6, 2008

ledgerdeath.jpg
The Dark Knight star Heath Ledger died of an accidental overdose of painkillers, sleeping pills, anti-anxiety medication and other prescription drugs, the New York City medical examiner said Wednesday.

The cause of death was "acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," spokeswoman Ellen Borakove said in a statement.

The drugs are the generic names for the painkiller OxyContin, the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is a widely used prescription painkiller.

Borakove wouldn't say what concentrations of each drug were found in Ledger's blood, or whether one drug played a greater part than another in causing his death.

"What you're looking at here is the cumulative effects of these medications together," she said.

The ruling comes two weeks after the 28-year-old Australian-born actor was found dead in the bed of his rented SoHo apartment. Police found bottles of six types of prescription drugs, including sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medication, in his bedroom and bathroom.

Ledger was discovered by his masseuse on Jan. 22 after she arrived for an appointment that afternoon. She entered his bedroom to set up for the massage and found him unresponsive, and proceeded to call Mary-Kate Olsen three times over the next 9 minutes before dialing 911. Ledger had been dead for some time, and police say no foul play occurred.

In a statement released through Ledger's publicist, Ledger's father, Kim, said Wednesday: "While no medications were taken in excess, we learned today the combination of doctor-prescribed drugs proved lethal for our boy. Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage."

On spy pics we can clearly see a helicoptor lying among the rubble, set spys have confirmed this, and after closer inspection of the trailer in the appropriate thread, it has been concluded that it's a helicoptor that Joker crashes the semi into.

Batman's Other Ride in The Dark Knight

February 15, 2008

MTV has posted the following:

Batman has the Tumbler when he's donning his cape, but what does he drive when he's out of uniform? Thanks to Mattel, now we know. We got a first look at Bruce Wayne's super Lamborghini filled to the brim with weapons and other crazy features when we dropped by for Toy Fair 2008.

You can watch it in action at the link above. Also, don't miss these pics of the Batpod and new toys.

That Batborghini's just a toy, right? I sure hope we don't see Bruce driving that Bondmobile in battle against the Joker.

Yea its just a toy. That car gets destroyed in a wreck during the day. We saw it being filmed. And Bruce was driving it.

Mattel's Dark Knight and Speed Racer Toys!

February 18, 2008

ComingSoon.net/Superhero Hype! spent the day Sunday at Toy Fair '08 taking pictures of whatever movie-related toys we could find, and though we already were scheduled to stop by the Mattel showroom on Tuesday, we were able to grab some early pics of Mattel's toys relating to this summer's biggest movies.

One of the most anticipated movies of the summer is clearly Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight and with the license to produce toys based on the movie, Mattel will be going whole hog with dozens of toys that start rolling out around May 1. There are maybe a dozen different variations of Batman in different outfits, including a "battle cape," "stealth wing" and "Firefly Batman" (possibly inspired by the comic book villain). Noticeably absent from the display were any figures for his new arch-nemesis the Joker, probably out of respect for the family and friends of Heath Ledger, though we did get to see a few pictures. Mattel was even more secretive and careful about having any pictures of their figure for Two-Face on display, but one was listed in the materials as part of the first wave of action figures, as well as there being a new Scarecrow figure, confirming his appearance in the sequel. Instead of any of these, they had a "Gotham City Thug," one of the Joker's clown-faced henchmen, on display. Even more interesting were some of the vehicles on display including a look at the Batcopter and the Batpod, which is the new Batcycle, and something called the "Treadator, Ultimate Pursuit ATV" (that's "all-terrain vehicle"), which we may have to wait and see if it's actually a vehicle from the movie. The new "Dark Knight" toys also include a Zipline Gun and a Disc Shooting Jet, fairly typical toys customized for the movie, but the most interesting new toy might be the "Interactive Bat" which hopefully, we'll be able to see in action on Tuesday. You can check out pictures of most of the new "Dark Knight" toys here.
