Your top 10... most anticipated games of 2013

Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate (WiiU & 3DS) - That is the only game I'm looking forward to.

What's Routine?

Taken from the website:

Routine is a first person horror exploration game set on an abandoned Moon base. Your job is to find enough data to uncover the truth behind the strange disappearance of everyone stationed on the Lunar Research Station.

1) God of War: Ascension
2) The Last Of Us
3) Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2
4) Tomb Raider
5) Watch Dogs
6) Remember Me
7) Deadpool

Tomb Raider. Gonna give GTAv a second chance.

GTA 5
Deadpool
Metal Gear Rising

Damn...this kind of seems like a dry year for games, or I just don't know any releases...

But just basing it off of peoples list in this thread.

I'm only really anticipating 3 games. 1st: GTA V, 2nd: Watchdogs, 3rd: Injustice

I have to add "Rome 2: Total War" for the PC. I love the Total War series. This currently has a scheduled release date as Dec. 31, 2013 so I'm placing it on this this but that also means any delay will push it back to 2014.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time
Grand Theft Auto V
The Last of Us
Splinter Cell: Blacklist
Watch Dogs

Think I'm forgetting a few more. But for now, my wallet is prepared.

In no particular order ($60 range)

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3/Vita)

An open-world-ish cartoony platform game with stealth elements. I really liked Sly 1 and especially 2, but this new one looks like a return to form (plus new stuff) over Sly 3. Sly's animation looks great! [blackout]Clue bottles are back along with other collectables! Carmelita becomes a fully playable character![/blackout]

Early developer playthrough of the game's first sections:

Bioshock Infinite (Multi)

I really don't like repetitive gun/death porn games like the dozens or hundreds that are out there, so it takes something really special to get me interested. It's essentially a new series using the Bioshock name to sell and keeping some presentation and thematic similarities to the previous games.

Tales of Xillia (PS3)

Japanese RPG with action-based combat. No English trailer yet, but it's supposed to be out this year in the West. I've been a long time fan of the series, and played and finished quite a few of them (including some never released in the West.) Almost every game is different in terms of story (except for the direct sequels, such as Tales of Xillia 2).

Broken Sword: Serpent's Curse (PC, probably some others eventually)

A point-and-click adventure game. The fifth in a long-running series of well-written adventure games. It was a Kickstarter crowd-funded project last year and reached full funding.

Kickstarter project trailer:

Remember Me (Multi)

Third person action-combat game with adventure-game elements. Being able to build your own combos seems complex on the surface, and the world looks pretty interesting. I'm not entirely sold on the script yet or whether the game ends up being a jack-of-all-trades (Arkham games, Assassins Creed) master-of-none deal, but the developers seem extremely into their work and what they've built. Also, it's not a sequel, and that needs at least some support from an audience.

Sub $60-range
I'll buy lots of digital releases and original IP phone games that have depth, I'm sure. But I rarely know they exist until one day they just show up in the app store and I check them out. I anticipate that I'll be...surprised. That's what happens when you have little to no marketing budget and the press is more interested in $60 AAA games but perhaps that's in the process changing.

Dead Space 3 - I'm a tad skeptical of the co-op and DS2 was one of the best games I've ever played so it will be hard to top that but I'm really looking forward to this.

Bioshock Infinite - The gameplay looks stunning. I feel the opposite about this next installment of a series because Bioshock 2 was a bit of a letdown so I think this game can only be better.

Crysis 3 - I was blown away by Crysis 2. It was one of the best FPS I probably ever played so I can't wait to see how this performs. I'm not too sure about a return to a NYC environment, I'd almost rather see something else but whatever.

The Last of Us - Everything about this looks great. I have high expectations.

GTA V - This is old faithful. I'll probably never finish the main story. Whenever I need some entertainment 10 months from now, I'll be playing multiplayer on this. It was how I used GTA 4.

I found this handy chart for game releases in 2013 if anyone is curious.

I'll add Lego Superheroes to my list as well.

GTA V
Lego Superheroes

Why does GTA V have an X for PC, is that because it hasn't been confirmed yet? It will obviously be on PC.

I'd also add the new Star Wars game to my list but I don't know anything about it, so we'll see. Same with Watch Dogs, Omerta, a couple of others maybe. I'm pretty excited for State of Decay too.

.

Thats not a given. Rockstar never put Red Dead Redemption on the PC. Ud assume GTA V will make it there at some point, just maybe not in 2013.

Wow, I guess I'd never thought about it but I didn't realize RDR hadn't got to PC. All the other GTA's have been on PC though, there's far too much money to be had not to do it.

Ah, forgot about Broken Sword: Serpent's Curse. Wasn't sure about when it's supposed to be released...thought it was probably next year. But I knew about the Kickstarter. Recently played the third game in the series, The Sleeping Dragon. That was great. And under-appreciated because it was all polygons and you have direct control over the characters instead of being a 2D point and click adventure game. A lot of people just don't like change like that.

Serpent's Curse will be another one to buy eventually.

10.) Aliens: Colonial Marines
9.) Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
8.) Gears of War: Judgment
7.) Remember Me
6.) Tomb Raider
5.) Watch_Dogs
4.) Lego Marvel
3.) Injustice: Gods Among Us
2.) Deadpool
1.) Grand Theft Auto V

Honorable Mentions:
DmC
Dead Space 3- Haven't played the first two, but I want to & I'm interested in this game.
Dragon Age 3- Haven't played the first one (or the second, but that doesn't count), but my love for Mass Effect makes me really want to.
Bioshock: Infinite- Yet again, I haven't played the others.
The Last of Us- I don't have a PS3, but this game looks beautiful.

Edited since #4 was just announced.

I'll be saving money on video games this year. I may rent Star Wars 1313 but that's it

Update:
GTA V (if released for PC)
WatchDogs
DmC Devil May Cry
Deadpool (if released for PC)
LEGO Marvel Heroes (I think it's this year)

Will Get:
  1. Watch Dogs
  2. Deadpool (if released for PC)
  3. LEGO Marvel Heroes
  4. Remember Me
  5. Batman Arkham Origins

Might Get:
  1. GTA V. I'm not big on this franchise, driving is cool, most of the gameplay is clunky in PS2 games (I did not play GTA III). GTA IV is ok
  2. Injustice
  3. Young Justice

Got, and really enjoyed:
  1. DmC Devil May Cry. Was awesome on first run, might not play it until next year though, don't have the patience to play any level of it again this month
  2. Tomb Raider. This was awesome, not a game I anticipated, but very much worth getting and completing

Now that Tomb Raider has come and gone, looking forward to Capacom's D&D arcade games DLC this summer.

So far none of the games on my list that I've played (Ni No Kuni, Mirror of Fate, Metal Gear Rising) are in the running for my Game of the Year haha.

I gotta admit, I've been a little disappointed with the way that this Spring was supposed to be massive, but has had so many games pushed back, But I played Tomb Raider, and so far that's my GOTY. I haven't played Bioshock yet, but that's mostly because I was never into the franchise, so that'll take me a while before I finally try it.

But right now, the games that I am very anxious to play are The Last of Us, GTAV, Splinter Cell Blacklist, and Watch Dogs. I'll definitely check out Assassin's Creed 4, although I'm not as excited for it like I have been in the past. Same goes for Arkham Origins, which I'm still waiting to see in action, and Beyond: Two Souls looks like something worth checking out.
