I know this belongs in sequels Kel but i thought i'd put it here as the sequel section sees less action than Doglips:oldrazz:

Maybe you could move it after a few have subscribed to it:yay:

B]US, [/B]May 8, 2007 - Tim Story, director of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and its big-screen predecessor, has had his fun with Dr. Doom and the Sentinel of the Spaceways, and now may be searching the Marvel library for more characters to introduce in a possible third film in the FF franchise.

Who might we see in Fantastic Four 3? One possibility appears to be Black Panther, who first appeared in Fantastic Four vol. 1, #52 in 1966. A film based on Black Panther, long championed by Wesley Snipes (Snipes had been expected to play the character until he became so deeply
entrenched in the Blade franchise), has struggled to make its way to the big screen. It wouldn't be that difficult, however, to give the character a supporting part to play in an FF sequel.

Story recently told the LA Times, "I've got to tell you, to get the Fantastic Four and turn it into a franchise, the first thing I thought was, 'Will I get the Silver Surfer'? Or someone like Black Panther, who was introduced in their book, get Djimon Hounsou and go do it?' But there are so many other great villains and stories - I feel like I hit the jackpot."

Is Story really looking at Black Panther? If so, we think Hounsou is a stellar choice. Would you include Black Panther in Fantastic Four 3, and what other characters would you want to see show up if another sequel is made? Send us an email with your ideas

Yeah I read this article the other day....very interesting....

That would be COOL!!

I hadn't really thought it was a possibility because I had heard Wesley Snipes was working on one.

His casting choice is perfect but I thought Marvel Studios had the movie rights for the character.

and I'd prefer Black Panther get introduced via his own feature film, not a two-bit cameo.

Yeah, I heard about that and think it's great. Not sure if it would happen though, I know Wesley Snipes has been trying to get a BP film off the ground for 15 years and Marvel is at least considering making one, so I don't know if they would want to give exclusive films right to Fox, but I suppose they could come up with some sort of deal.

I just think it's great that Tim Story is at least attempting to have team-ups and stuff in his movies since no one else is really trying that, and as long as the films aren't *horrible* something like this could lead to spin-offs and stuff.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo to Wesley Snipes....

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees to Djimon Hounsou. I'd love for them to introduce him in an F4 movie.....that would be cool.

more like Hell no to Snipes.:trans:

I'd hardly call Silver Surfer's role in FF2 a "two-bit cameo."
I'd rather see T'Challa introduced that way (with a built-in audience of millions) and then spun off into his own feature rather than ending up as a two-bit movie.
If a character was created in the pages of Fantastic Four, let them come to the screen with the Fantastic Four.

And Klaw would make for a great villain, what with his creating all those giant red monsters out of sound:

My thoughts exactly.

Not that I don't love the Panther, but I'd rather see the FF go into space than the jungle.

Marvel has those rights and it's under a financing contract with Merrill Lynch. LOL. Won't happen without Merrill's approval from what I understand. Unless Merrill agrees to it and Fox pays for a one film appearance.

Which, while unlikely, isn't impossible.

It's mutually beneficial, in my opinion: Fox gets to use the character in a FF movie, and Marvel can capitalize on the success with their own Black Panther film.

Agreed,it's a win win situation and i'd love to see Panther in an FF movie

I would love to see the Panther introduced in an FF movie, again, just like in the comics. Issues 52, 53, and the Klaw story in 56 would make a nice film, and since the Panther helped the FF beat Klaw, that would be a natural 3rd act. The Panther also figured into the first Psycho Man story, but that may be too much for one film [and you would need the Inhumans, too]...

I'd prefer to see T'Challa launch via some other franchise actually, not this one. I mean, I can see the benefits of having him debut in FF3, but that storyline may not go over as well on the silver screen. I want to see the FF continue on the Intergalactic trail they've embarked on so far (Inhumans, anyone?) instead of staying earthbound.

There is a LOT they can do with BP as a solo character--especially if they get high profile actors to join the cast. Djimon is my choice...and I'd kill myself if they even thought about Wesley. :down

What's with all the Snipes haters? He didn't screw up Blade and who cares if he's a extreme character actor with mental instability and tax problems. He could do good. What about that dude from Casino Royale...in the opening chase scene.

T'Challa is a 6'2, muscle bound African answer to The Batman.

Wesley Snipes...is not.

A Black Panther spin off would make less money than an independent origin movie.

less money = no sequels

The anticipation of seeing the Black Panther realized in a live action movie will nose dive once people see him in FF3.

Kiss any chance of a big-budget Black Panther solo film goodbye.

If Wesley Snipes wasn't already another Marvel superhero he would be my 4th or 5th choice to play Black Panther.

But since he's already Blade, playing Black Panther is completely out of the question.

My top 2 choices.

1) Djimon Hounsou (perfect)

2) Idris Elba (could be pretty bad ass in the role)

Anticipation? What anticipation?

But you're right, just like the anticipation for live action Spider-Man took a nose dive after the first film, I mean absolutely NO ONE went and saw the sequels :whatever:

As much as I like black panther and want a BP film i'd prefer him not to appear in FF3. Its like what lightening said i doubt that story would translate well onto screen and personally i'd rather them go into space and face someone else, skrulls perhaps!!??

Actually unless Will Smith plays BP, we can still kiss a big budget BP movie goodbye. No studio is going to toss a 100 million into a BP movie with a supporting actor. I love and respect Djimon Hounsou but the guy, while a good actor is a supporting character. He hasn't proved to be able to carry an entire film money wise with him as the lead. Actually no black actor of the right age for BP is popular enough where a studio is going to shell out a 100 million plus budget except Will Smith. Any other black actor for BP and the studio will probably go 30-40 million tops.

We keep going down these casting and budget roads and a few names are good, but realistically only one black actor is massivly bankable and that's Smith. I already know about Denzil, but he can't match smith's earning power at the box office. Don't get me wrong, Smith isn't right for the role, but if it means getting a quality BP movie with the tenchnological wonder that is Wakanda then I'll accept Smith.
