Justice League script review

It remains to be seen at this point, I would imagine it wouldn't.

The story sounds like just another made up joke like the other 1000 or so stories we had about this project so far! I don't believe for one second that some guy in production gets hold of the script in this early production stage and releases it without being punished. People have lost their houses for a lot less. This project is far to big to have giant leaks like this! Not even the actors who audition can read from it or even see a glimpse of it.

Just think for a second: All the reports from Variety and other credible publications have claimed that the script was already great in it's first draft. Hence the sudden production start on it. WB even shelved 3 single hero movies (Supes,Flash,WW) for THIS! It's their 2009, summer opening, tentpole movie! They got an Academy Award winning crew on this and the buzz on this film is huge within the agencies. One of the actors who auditioned last week (Adam Brody) even mentioned the JL project back in an interview in spring '07, because it created such a big buzz just from the early script! If it really was that terrible and dumb kiddy oriented, we would've heard about it when WB started looking for a director and presented him the script.

And notice how they kept everything under wraps until last week when someone released this extremely short list of last minute auditions. A day later the first sites debunked the "fact" that those actors were going for the lead roles. Now we know they were only looking for Flash and WW. And we don't know if it were first choices or altenatives.

Even Singer's Superman and Raimi's Spidey 3 had tons of speculations and "facts" that never came true. And they were fairly open to the fans about the projects while they were filming! With numerous extras on the sets following production.
All we got so far are tons of rumors and half assed confirmations on the crew. To believe that the final script made it out to only a small internet site is silly. Even more silly than the crap that imposter made up. If it'd be a real copy, all the big newspapers would catch up on it and have a field day with WB. The project would be put on hold immediately and prolly never be seen again.

But hey, believe what you want. If it makes you feel better.

If it was real, why would news sites be up in arms about 14 pages from an effects treatment.

The WB apparently loved Singer's 30 page treatment for SR and we know how that turned out.

The whole thing is weird. The best thing to come out of this is that everyone has calmed down and will simply wait for the official stuff whenever that is, instead of getting up-in-arms about silly stuff.

I am telling you...it is a good fake but a fake!

The OFFICIAL announcement about this movie in EW...what did it say?

Superman will fight Batman. Superman will fight Wonder Woman. Do you REALLY think that could happen in a script like this? If they were ALREADY fighting each other...would they include an evil Justice League?

Don't you think EW would have MENTIONED this...or at least given a hint?

When the official information doesn't line up with the rumor... I am going with the official information. Fake! Can we move on please?

Whole scripts have made it to sites like this before. We got Transformers relatively the same as how we saw it in the theaters, and that leaker came over here a while back with the entire SM3 script in a synopsis. We can't confirm the TIH script leak, but I'm betting that it's true.

As for this thread, it's outlived it's value. Either the WB is happy we think it's fake, or this was just made by a ferverous fan out to fool people with how good he thinks his fan fiction is. Either way, a lock may be in order.

Am I wrong?
Not on that.
Yes, much of which is pretty damn lousy and uninspired. Successful writers do tend to have something to show for their efforts. The really successful ones (top hundred or so) make a million dollars per screenplay and are given multiple jobs per year. The average employed writer makes somewhere in five figures and takes home an average of about $45,000 per year after taxes and agent fees.

Writing is like any other business. There are only so many lucrative jobs, and the competition is fierce. If some writers are struggling, rather than striking, maybe they should seek a new career or improve their skills.

Writers don't make as much or near as much as actors or directors for one simple reason: They're not marketable, because they're not rare. And that may be because our culture doesn't appreciate them as much as actors and directors to a point, but that's a lousy reason to strike.
$45000 on the coasts is jack-squat. I won't argue that some of it is crap, though.

I'd say being underpaid (on average) and underappreciated is the best reason to strike. I'm not saying I'll like it, and I don't know the specifics, to be sure, but I don't have a problem with them striking.

I told him over at BT's that we all post and read in the same places. It's kind of the nature of the fandom, y'know?

But hey, whatever blows your skirt up, I guess.

Haha! Here is the ironic part...that wasn't me! OK, I did copy and paste my post over at the Planet and I may have intended to do it too. But the thing is...I always use the same name. So I don't know if this "The Marvel" copied my original post or what!

I know there is some over lap but I know a lot of people don't go to different forums.

Mainly...work has been slow and I have nothing better to do while sitting at my desk answering phones.

Wait what...you're saying your not Marvel?

I promise I am not!

I get the feeling I may have posted that here...but yet, there it is, with another person's name. I did feel like I was repeating myself with this post...frankly I didn't think anyone was listening...maybe they are and just don't agree. Who knows? :p

Maybe there was some hiccup. Maybe the board accidently gave it to someone else. But check my post counts on all those boards...even this one. All with low post counts...cause I am new. I decided to start posting with the hope of trying to calm people down.

Maybe I am still too naive when it comes to the internet and the fandoms. I am many things...but I wouldn't create a separate identity. I suggest reading his other posts...they don't sound like me. They aren't the way I write.

Anyways, I will say I was inspired to post the same thing (at least twice) thanks to the Guard, whom I saw both on The Planet and IESB. I notice him here too I think...but then they ARE all starting to blur together.

All I can do is believe you, because I can't confirm it, and it doesn't really matter to me. Who can confirm it is my buddy Patty. She'll let me know.

In regards to trying to keep the boards levelheaded, I have been at it for a long time in the Superman Forums and Patty, AgentPat, has been on it for longer than me Smallville and otherwise. It's a tall task.

O....K?

Yeah, I am getting that sense. It is clearly making me wonder if I should try at all...I think perhaps it would be better for me to just...sit back and wait for the film to come out.

Come on, that'd be too logical. That's not supposed to happen around here. :oldrazz:

none yet, its a weekend. its usually slow around these times. but then there's that strike so it'll even be slower.

the only thing new is the IESB interview with Mary Elizabeth Winstead on her auditons for Wonder Woman, you can watch it here: http://www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3525&Itemid=99

ok thanks i just wanted ot know if there has been any more developments on this.

^ It's better than most of the crap Marvel movies that have been done lately. To be honest Blade 1 & 2 and X-Men 1 & 2 are the only ones I like.
