The Dark Knight Rises Christopher Nolan Is Doing Batman 3!!!

Based on what exactly? WB haven't announced anything.

Based on them FINALLY creating DCE and hiring great talent like Jim Lee and Geoff Johns to help spearhead the creative side of things.

Based on the 1st taste we will get as fans of this will be the Green Lantern film that Geoff Johns ended up consulting with Martin Campbell on story and script rewrites.....which is a good thing IMO.

And that automatically means cameras are about to start rolling? Again, WB haven't announced anything, DC Entertainment are not the ones calling the shots with the films, the buck stops with WB, creative team or not.

Baby steps buddy.....baby steps.....sheesh!

It's okay to be optimistic every now and then.....

on Batman 3

"Without getting into specifics, the key thing that makes the third film an great possibility for us is that we want to finish our story, and in viewing it as the finishing of a story rather than infinitely blowing up the balloon and expanding the story. We have a great ensemble, that's one of the attractions of doing another film, since we've been having a great time for years."

Awesome read, I'm dancing, I'm really, really dancing!

Why would this ever happen? This is Batman, not Iron Man.

yeah i know but come on if Batman 3 is gonna be the last Nolan film i wanted it to have a big reveal and it would make sense if the riddler is gonna be the main villian

Nah, there is no reason for that. It would do more harm than good. Criminals who get out of prison would not only try to hurt Bruce but also try to get at any loved ones he has in his life(Alfred, new girlfriend or wife, etc...). Trying to live a personal life would become extremely difficult. Why bring that danger on yourself and those around you?

Plus, although it may be the end, you want it to end in way where there aren't loose ends but that Batman will be ready to fight crime whenever necessary. His battle is eternal. Think of the last shot of Batman 89, something like that.

I think this next film will end with Bruce becoming 100% Batman. No more talks of quiting, he fully accepts becoming the guardian of Gotham.

“And we feel we can do it right. We know the milieu, if you will, we know the genre and how to get it done right.” I think it's very presumptuous for him to call his interpretation of batman "doing it right". successful? yes. but right? well that isn't really possible, That said I am still looking forward to the movie

Or the death of Batman and/or mysterious disappearance of Bruce Wayne.

You two have mistaken an "ending" for "shock ending that effectively leads nowhere".

Yeah.

All this "Batman dying" and "Batman revealing himself to Gordon/Gotham as Bruce Wayne" is ASTOUNDINGLY stupid.

hey, im just trying find out how you can end the franchise. I would like to see a reveal but i know he wouldnt.

I always liked the explanation in "Hush" that Gordon was too good a detective not to figure out who Batman was. It was just never discussed that he does know. If Gordon comes to the realization on his own in the film I'd be fine with that. But it shouldn't be Bruce who reveals the secret.

Yea no reveal or death.

Batman never reveals his identity to the masses like Iron Man. It's just not his style. Nor the style of Batman stories period.

So glad to be back on the SHH forums!
All this news is very exciting...
just hope you're all ready to relive the hype again! ;)

thats what im saying, the riddler tries to reveal batman

I may be in the minority...but I'm relieved that there will be no cross-over event and a Justice League movie with Nolan's Batman. To me, it just never made sense. This interpretation of Batman was always meant to be a solitary figure in his own universe.

Marvel can keep their comic-book cheesy quantity-over-quality planned cross overs. :oldrazz:

Batman won't be revealed. He won't die.

I suspect we will get the complete Batman with Batcave and mansion and new Bat Mobile and completely on his game.

It'll most likely end with his name cleared somehow or at the very least allowed to continue his quest to rid the streets of crime without the cops on his tail.

Right, because its impossible to have both.

I'm all for the Avengers flick. There's no way in hell it'll be cheesey!

But I'm glad that the script being thrown about before for the JL (and casting) has been nixed.
