Dexter - Part 3

I'm wondering if Deb gets pinned to LeGuerta's death? It seemed like Deb couldn't get a hold of Dexter, cause his phone was off. I'm wondering if he didn't have it on him, cause he didn't want to be tracked by the GPS. Now that Deb shows up - with her phone most likely - I wonder if someone will go back and look at Deb's GPS and tie her to the location?

I have a bad feeling all this stuff is gonna be just glossed over and not mentioned. If anything, Angel would be suspicious now. They've really done a good job of making every cop on the show seem exceedingly incompetent

LOL! I just noticed Deb drives a BMW E46 3 Series model in the new season! But in episode 11, where Dexter checks her wrecked car, it's an E36 3 Series model! :wow:

Now sure, this is no big deal, but thought it's kinda amateurish from the creators, seriously, couldn't have they sacrificed one of the E46 models? It's not even new anymore, so it can't cost that much.

They will deal with that in 30 seconds, much like in this last episode when she arrested Dexter. It was a pretty big fu**ing moment, but it ended in about a minute or so when everything was carefully planned before hand.
That's what I don't like about the show, there's no momentum, the exciting stuff just ends abruptly, is like they don't enjoy those tense moments they build up to.

I have noticed this show, and many others that are only on 12-13 ep seasons do this often. They have a well paced first 8-10 episodes, then its almost as if they go "oh crap, we still have 14 things to explain & only 2-4 eps left to do so... lets start trimming down these "discoveries".

I have felt this with Dexter almost every season, last 2 eps go too fast for all the info crammed into them... they really should be getting like 2 extra eps to properly pace these out, or Showtime has to start telling their showrunners to tighten up the pacing eariler in the season so the end doesnt look like such a mess.

i wonder if there is any truth to next season being 16 episodes

I dont know why but...I had a hard time believing Hannah actually poisoned Deb. I was sure there would be some kind of twist there.

You gotta be joking? This is whats wrong with fans, you look into such LITTLE **** that has NOTHING absolutely NOTHING to do with the show or how it furthers the story and complain.:jedi

Dexter dropped the ball bigtime, last season they should have played up the TRINITY JR angle, that would have been a GREAT villain, and brian as the dark passenger for more than one episode would have been amazing. I hope next season gets better because this was disappointing.

Really disappointing season finale for Dexter. It's a real shame, as this season started off brilliantly. But pretty much since Isaak's death it's been in freefall. There was the odd interesting scene here and there, like Hannah's escape and LaGuerta revealing the video footage of Debra (shame the "Previously On..." vid at the start totally telegraphed that twist), and the ending was fairly dramatic, but none of it really gelled into a compelling whole. It didn't really feel like this is what the whole season had been building up to. And worse, it didn't leave us with a devastating hook to carry us into next season. And with next season the last, that's what this finale REALLY needed.

Going into Dexter this season, my interest had been all but killed by the abysmal Season 6. I was of the stance of "I'll give the first episode a go and see if I can be bothered still watching." But then the season's first half won me back big time, enough that I'm invested to at least see it through to the end now. But man, they dropped the ball big time with this episode. You don't want the weakest episode of the season to be your finale.

Pretty ****ed up how they killed Laguerta. I really thought Dexter was just gonna frame her for Estrada's death, which would have been better than killing her in my opinion.

you got to be ****ing kidding me:huh:so ending the finale with debra killing laguerta is not a great hook to end the season?

It hasn't been confirmed if this will be the last season or not.

In a separate interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Buck added, "I think it's the beginning of the end for Dexter." He also noted that while the show's producers are writing Season 8 as if it will be the series finale, they haven't yet received final confirmation from Showtime that it will be." He called the series' widely-assumed end-point "a Showtime decision" and said, "If we get told otherwise somewhere along the way, we'll take it in a different direction but we are definitely working toward the finale of the series."

Unless they extend it for another year, yes, it has been confirmed that the 8th season is the last one.

Not really. When Debra walked in on Dexter killing Doomsday, you were left on the edge of your seat. Despite it capping a crummy season, that was a genuine cliffhanger where you were desperate to see what happened next. Yes, Debra killing LaGuerta was a dramatic moment, but it also effectively ended the story. Dexter narrowly skates by again, with the threats to him conveniently taken care of. Yes, we'll see Debra mope for the first few episodes of next season, and this may have long-term implications for the direction her character takes as we approach the endgame, but it's not like Rita's murder, or like Deb walking in on Dexter, where the writers set things up with a heap of momentum steamrolling into the season ahead.

Deb now has to live with the fact she's a murderer. And do you think they're not gonna figure out there was some foul play? I'm sure someone (maybe Angel) will discover something fishy and open up an investigation. There will be a manhunt in some form or another next season.

you know what sucks, Dexter never told Lagerta that he killed Miguel Prado because he was after Lagerta...... well, she was his next kill better Dexter got to him

deb becoming a murderer is a far bigger cliffhanger than figuring out dexter

Oh man I didn't even realize that. They really did drop the ball on a Dexter/Laguerta confrontation. They sort of did but it should have been so much more. Damn! I can't ****ing believe they've done this! As much as I've loved this season the places where they dropped the ball are just staggering looking back. The end was heart wrenching but man it should have been so much more. Dex should have had Laguerta on his table and there should have been some dialogue and then Deb comes in and cuts Laguerta free from the plastic and then Deb does what she does making us feel that much more uncertain of which way she would go

Also, it's interesting that all the info Quinn had on Dexter from Liddy didn't seem to factor into LaGuerta's suspicions.

What does Quinn do anymore? LOL, he's a waste at this point.

:lmao:

Dexter through all of Liddy's stuff in the bay/lake where he killed him... but yea you would assume Quinn had some info.

I'm all for people having opinions and enjoy reading opinions that differ from my own....that being said... I am thoroughly confused as to how some people think this season was bad...

While I am pretty pissed about Isaak... by no means do I think it ruined the season. I do think they should have ignored Estrada... LaGuerta could have easily done the same thing using Isaak and have a few different plot points..

but this season was easily one of the best. I liked it more than season 4 (which is a great season, but amazingly overrated.)...

I dont know, maybe its because I consider season 6 to be god awful and in no way would I put season 7 any where near the same boat as that.

I honestly was on the edge of my seat for entire finale last night. I think LaGuerta's interrogation of Dexter was probably the single greatest moment for that character in the whole series. It was like the spirit of Doakes was with her and she was staring right into Dexter's soul.

"I swear to God Dexter, I'm gonna nail you to the wall for what you've done."

That line and delivery blew me away, because she's never been a character I particularly liked much, but you really could see how justified she was with all that righteous anger. It was a huge reminder that Dexter really is the bad guy.

Just really really good stuff. It's been a long time since a Dexter episode had me this thrilled.
