Jared Leto IS The Joker

I think some intense type of prosthetics or makeup (not saying that he should wear white makeup) is needed, the various times I've tried to create a picture of the Joker he just looks too damn... nice? Not sinister enough. I think it's his eyebrows and baby faced skin.

We've had his hideout be a chemical factory in B89...Heath had no hideout, so we do need a differentiation here.

I'm leaning towards his carnival lair.

If they can give Jared lines like Willem Dafoe,

especially when the Joker grins and laughs, I'd be happy. But saying that, I don't want him to have that Arkham look. For this appearance in SS, if he is in Arkham, I want him to look as unspectacular as possible...He's wearing a jumpsuit, and has no makeup to go along with his white skin, a bit like in TDKReturns
All he has is just his pale green hair, there's no life to him hardly. If Batman is on the verge of reitiring in BvS, then he must be confident that Joker isn't going to be around anymore. So perhaps in SS, somebody brings a comatose Joker round? That could be the case I think, but who knows?
So we see a new angle to him, he's almost like a baby being born and learning to walk and talk, becoming more and more himself as things continue...then by the end of the movie, we see him resembling his classic self and he escapes from Arkham once more.

But if he's the enemy of course, then that won't be the case.

Does anyone have a copy of Robin #151 and a scanner, or alternatively better Google skills than me?

I remember that it contains a great little flashback scene of The Joker busily working on a nuclear bomb by lamp light. It's one of my favourite images of The Joker "behind the scenes".

People often say that this Joker should be mysterious like Heath's...but that doesn't exclude seeing him doing his own thing?
Heath's Joker worked because we didn't see what he was up to in the background and Nolan wanted him to be like Jaws...popping up from time to time and wreak as much mayhem and fear as he could muster.

And while that was good, I want us to go back to the time of B89...where Joker would just be sitting...cutting up pictures for some reason that was only amusing to him :o

Just looked at that issue and I don't see a Joker flashback...

Argh. It's either the next or the previous, then.

Yes, that's the one- well found!

I love the vulture-like way he is hunched over his work, and how baroque the tails make him look. It would be great to have a gas-making scene like that.

Another great one from the next page

Look at how unspectacular his lips are
...It's all in the smile.

And the eyes too.

Thanks for finding that, Green (did you scan it or track it down online?)

It seems likely that SS will be quite a Joker-centric movie, if Harley is in the squad and The Joker is its "target" in some way. We can probably hope for some of these more intimate moments with him, therefore.

I hope so. Don't want it to be til the next Batfilm, whenever that is.

I actually have the digital version of the comic on my computer.

If the Joker is the Squad's target, maybe Waller recruits Harley out of prison because she knows more about the Joker than anyone?

Hannibal Lecter was used to get into the minds of other psychos...what better person than his protégé to get into Joker's?

Going onto characterization. Which interpretation do you guys hope they draw the most inspiration from?

As biased as this may sound, I LOVE Frank Miller's Joker so I hope they take plenty from that. A little bit of O'Neil wouldn't hurt either.

You guys Leto with wrinkles?
here ya go...

I envision him like this, if it were up to me. Try as I might, I just can't get him that sharper nose.

Not with that hairstyle, I hope.
