BvS Christina Wren is Mjr. Carrie Farris

hahaha...ok! But Col. Hardy sure was a badass. Loved that character and Prof. Hamilton

Yeah, I was sorry to see Prof. Hamilton bite the dust. Would like to see him again.

what do you mean the actress won't play the part? this is the same hottie that was in mos man.

and as I understand it, they changed the gender of a character in mos. if they'll do that, surely they could change some of the letters/alter the name slightly of one of dccu's character so as to still keep the truest nature of it under wraps?

I didn't say that actress won't play the part, but that apparently she herself doesn't know whether her character is the same as Carol Ferris or not. :cwink:

I believe you're referring to Jenny Olsen, right?

I am actually not sure about that. She's only credited as "Jenny" and it seems that her surname in the film is not Olsen at all:

But sure, they can alter the name a bit.

It is not really necessary, but is still better than Robin John Blake. :hehe:

ah, gotcha. perhaps she's not aware, or is just sworn to secrecy.

and about jenny, I guess they changed the character completely because, isn't she fulfilling jimmy's role in the comics?

oh god, I hated the blake twist

Yup, it could be that. But I'd go for "not aware". I think it was initially simply a small reference (or an easter egg), seeing that her character didn't have a prominent role in MOS, but now, since they're expanding the universe and are planning to introduce Green Lantern at some point they're yet to see whether to develop her character into Carol Ferris from comics or leave her as a side character Maj. Carrie Farris.

Keep in mind that Carol Farris is only attached to Hal Jordan and they might even go for someone else as Green Lantern, like Stewart or even Rayner. I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't decided on that particular thing yet.

Jenny is an assistant and, don't take my word on it as I'm not very familiar with Superman comics, I think that Jimmy Olsen is supposed to be a photographer. So yes, if that's supposed to be the same character, they've change it quite a bit.

But as I said, on that ID card it seems to be written "Jurwich" and not "Olsen". I'm not sure where the whole "Jenny Olsen" thing comes from to tell you the truth. Someone here should know.

You and me both, mate.

And it would seem, quite a number of people.

Yeah, it could be nothing more than an easter egg but like you said, since mos is the first part of a cinematic universe, and they're bringing this minor character back for the sequel, it could be more than just that. we will have to wait and see.

I think the Jenny Olsen thing came from when the character's named was revealed to be Jenny, which obviously sounds like Jimmy, a character who's got a similar role in the comics. Initially everyone thought maybe she is the sister of the character from the comics and she replaces his role, and now it looks as if this character may have replaced the comics' character role completely, but who knows. maybe there'll be an actual Jimmy Olsen this time around.

ah well, that movie had a lot of problems riddled within. it's too bad. I would've preferred that batman be the batman in this universe, but... hey. Can't always get what ya want :brucebat:

Could be, though I think there was something more concrete that started the rumor, or it was someone on production mentioning the name "Jenny Olsen". Someone in this place ought to know and enlighten us both on the matter, sooner or later.

It would be nice to see Jimmy Olsen, if for nothing than for the sake of keeping it true to the comics, though I've no idea who'd play him, as we already know the (almost) entire cast.

It is very bad indeed. I liked "Begins" and "Dark Knight" quite much, but can't stand "Rises".

And I believe we're getting a more proper Batman this time around.

Oh, and I'm not sure if I said so earlier, but I like your username. :woot:

I agree, I'm not a huge superman fan but I do like when they stick to the source material, especially for character origins.

So yeah, if anyone else knows the backgrounds of the jenny olsen news, please enlighten us and share.

lol thanks. back before dkr came out, I was sooo obsessed with Bane and wanting to know every single detail about him and the film as possible, so when I registered I decided to make it that.

I have full confidence that ben affleck will do a great job, BUT I didn't want to see a new face to the cinematic batman for no good reason. but that's just me. i'm of course still going to go see bvs.

Yeah, I've been a big fan of Tom Hardy for a while and was familiar with Bane from the "Knightfall" comic arc so I was also kind of fanatically following the filming and especially every tidbit about the character on Chris' Batman-News site.

And I kind of get where you're coming from with this. Still, it's quite a different thing to have Batman in larger DCCU/Justice League and as I felt let down by the characterization of Bale's Batman, I welcome the opportunity to finally see more comic book accurate one.

I think that is the main reason ben affleck won people over. I think I was in the minority for wanting bale to be the one for the dccu.

as for tom hardy, now that we know spidey is finally gonna be in the mcu, there were rumors swirling (or fan casting) of him to be venom, so there's that to possibly look forward to way down the road :D

Yeah, I agree. Though, I believe many are still unhappy with the casting.

And I'm afraid I'm not really interested in Spidey or MCCU, but I suppose it's possible that Hardy will go to Marvel at some point.

Well, yeah.

to those still unhappy with the batfleck casting period, to them I'll say... I can understand, but still. it's batman and superman, I don't think the film will do wrong.

ahh, it's a shame man! come on, if you're not interested, there's no better time than now to get excited!

Well said. It's something we've been waiting for so long to see and some seem to just focus on the negativity and have already decided that film will suck. I get it that it means a lot to some people, but they can't get past the initial reaction and allow for the possibility that something they don't initially like might actually work well.

One should wait and see. There'll be plenty of time (and potentially more substantial reasons) to criticize the film afterwards.

Heh :woot:, I'm just not the fan of Spidey and don't like how MCCU was executed, those films are just not my cup of tea.

I am glad for those who do like it and are excited right now. It's a big thing for sure.

Are you people crazy with that Jenny Olsen.... Devorah Snyder confirmed it's not Olsen.

Deborah Snyder: “Or that, we have a character, an intern called Jenny, who was actually Jimmy Olsen! That we had replaced Jimmy Olsen with Jenny. She’s just a character.”

wow...she's a cutie!

anyway, i really doubt her character will turn out to be Carol Ferris

I see.

Nothing to do with being crazy, we were just familiar with the rumor and weren't following fanatically every single bit of information from that film.

In one of my Fanfic ideas, I wanted to make her Carol's cousin or relative, since I want to see the real Carol Ferris and this character has grown on me.

It would be a good happy medium. :whatever:

People were so hard on this actress and her character ("little miss dumb soldier") because she didn't know what the hell terraforming is and because she commented that Superman was hot. I liked the character. I didn't need to see her back but it's fine that she is.

Plus, I just think she's kinda hot. And it's awesome that she's a Pittsburgher.
