Season 7, Episode 7 "The Dragon and the Wolf" Discussion Thread

I threw up a little upon reading the all caps part but the rest of the post is even worse.

HOW THEY GONE LET THAT WIGHT RUN UP ON CERSEI LIKE THAT? I SCREAMED. MY HEART FROZE . SHE LOOK SO SCARED! :'( MY BABY </3 i loved how she didnt let it faze her tho. She is such a strong person and she is in the right tbh. Why should she help the bores, jon and dany? They are haters who want to use her and then get her off the throne. And can we also highlight that she had mutiple oppurtunities to kill her brothers this episode and she didnt, bc cersei doesnt betray her family unlike her TRAITOR brothers. Jamie can choke after this episode.

Didnt let it phase her, my ass.

Cersei about **** her lace undergarments when that wight ran at her. And even after it was cut in half she still looked like she was having to struggle to remain composed.

I wasn't surprised but I was hoping she'd had a bit more of a reaction to the dragons. Even if she was secretly screaming inside.

I wonder if this will force Jamie to switch sides. Dany could've burned them all and been done with it but she didn't and now she is willing to head into war, Jamie has to admire that.

Cersei did have a reaction to the dragons. She was pissed that Dany's entrance was better than hers.:hehe: Thats why she chided Dany for being late.

Does anyone know what the chorus was repeating in the score when the dead army came through the hole in the Wall? Its one phrase and its repeated multiple times. Im not sure if its an actual language or Valyrian or something else.

Im really interested to see how Jaime and Dany get along. He killed her father but Jaime had good reason. And now he has forsaken his sister and ridden to war alone with only one hand and no soldiers. Thats gotta earn him some respect from Dany and Jon. Im also hoping Jaime apologizes to Bran. Even if Bran doesnt care anymore Id like to see Jaime tell Bran that he is sorry for what he did.

Probably Valyrian, what with Viserion being involved.

Watching the finale again. This season has been a tad underwhelming up until this finale. The finale is amazing television. The worst part about it is how long we'll have to wait for Season 8.

We might get Winds of Winter next year. That will help some with the wait for season 8.

For the small portion of the audience who reads the books, yeah. More chapters as Metal as The Forsaken would go a long way in lieu of onscreen battles.

Been thinking about Cersei's huge political blunder. She has chosen to remain in KL with her army and to call in the Golden Company to subjugate the kingdoms. The rest of the armies or as many as possible are heading North to fight the army of the dead. Those armies will see Jon and Dany leading the fight. After its done and the army of the dead are defeated who are the people and the armies going to stand behind and support? Jon and Dany, the two that charged headfirst into battle against an army of horrors...or the selfish ***** that holed up in KL and did nothing while an army of dead destroyed the North and her foreign army ravaged and pillaged the South during Winter?

Not only that, but it was unwise of her to pledge to support Dany and Jon's campaign in the north. When no Lannisters show up they're going to be mighty suspicious. She should've just agreed to the original terms of staying in KL while they went to battle the NK. Obviously she would've attacked Dany's positions at some point but she could've bought more time.

The music kept ****ing with me. The showrunners have done a great job with that pavlovian mind ****. Certain musical cues in the show I associated with something really bad about to happen and they kept sneaking those into the episode.

The Theon stuff is coming too late for me. It would have been fine earlier but it's too off the point and a little boring to watch now that ice dragon's are taking out the wall and the final pieces of all the major players are getting into place.

Hopefully a worthy conclusion for the Iron Born.

I loved him standing up and declaring that their reaving and raping was over.

I have a question. Cersei blamed Tyrion for the death of her children and her reasoning was that had he not killed Tywin then their father would have been around and their enemies would have come after the family. Is that true? Would Ellaria not have killed Myrcella if Tywin was around? Would the Faith Militant not arrested her and the Tyrells if Tywin was around?

Cersei is going under the assumption that they wont defeat the army and/or their numbers will be too depleted after the battle for any of that to matter

I'm so glad arya and sansa have squashed their beef btw. They need each other :)

Theon is a sweetie! I am so glad he is redeeming himself now. For yara!

And the dumbest post award goes to...

Technically Tywin was kind of responsible for Myrcella dying as Dorne killed her as revenge for Oberin dying to the Mountain. Had Tywin not pushed for Tyrion to die maybe that whole shebang would have been avoided.

As for the faith militant I think Tywin probably would have kept them away. Tommen killing himself and even Cersei's arrest were all self inflicted wounds on the Lannisters. Most Tywin would have done would have been to keep Cersei from doing really stupid stuff.

Oh great. Didn't realise this was a possibility.

It may open up a whole other can of worms though. The show's diverged a lot from the books, so there's going to be a sense of disappointment that a lot of the new elements won't show up in the series.

Haha, l completely didn't notice that Gendry wasn't in the episode. I assume he waited at Dragonstone?

Perhaps someone took him to Selyse's room at Dragonstone and introduced him to his pickled jar cousins
