I figure they should have their own thread.

They were mentioned in The Force Awakens, and in Last Jedi, Luke mentions a handful of students went with Ben when he burned the temple down. So, I'm hoping they feature in episode IX. They can take on Rey and whoever she recruits to her side.

We really have to see them in IX.

Kylo is full fledged down the dark path, but maybe one of the Knights can be turned? Something like that wouldn't surprise me, and it would give Rey an ally with some force training.

The Knights of Ren were the biggest missed opportunity in TLJ. I feel like they should have been shown or at least mentioned, that way in IX they can be seen as Kylos army type of thing.

I would like to see the Knights of Ren in 9 and I think i'd be cool if they were even more hardcore than Kylo is. Since the Sith are always turning on each other , it would be logical that one of them would want to take Kylo out.

I'd love to see a Bane to Kylo's Ras if we're using TDK rises as an example. A sith who may been just as powerful as Kylo but makes him look like a saint compared to his method's and the depths of his evil.

Kylo is tortured and wears his emotions on his sleeve. He'd likely be challenged by a younger and hungrier sith who would be willing to go farther without the guilt or remorse.

I could see Hux trying to sway some of them to his side in a potential coup against Kylo.

Well, TLJ was pretty jam-packed as it is. And they are referenced if you take Luke's mention of the other students as being them, which I think would make a lot of sense.

Unless they do something really interesting with them-- because all we've thought of them as so far is cool looking armoured dudes with unique lightsaber-repelling weapons-- then the Praetorian Guards have probably stolen some of their thunder.

If they're Luke's former students, then... I don't know if it's more depressing that they died or that they all thought so little of him they immediately turned dark.

The Knights of Ren could already be dead. Isn't the whole problem with dark Jedi that they always try to kill each other and usurp their power?

That was a Sith thing, and I don't see why it wouldn'tbe extended to other Dark Siders, yeah.

But Snoke, in TFA, refers to Kylo as "Master of the Knights of Ren", which surely isn't something he'd say if they'd already turned and been killed. And TLJ picks up immediately after TFA, so it hasn't happened since then.

Plus, you wouldn't mention and then show them in TFA if the plan wasn't to use them at some point.

Well, there was that line about Kylo leaving *with* other students, so I guess it's possible.

You'd figure they'd have sabers though if that's the case. I'm still leaning toward that gang/"pirate" group he hooked up with prior to Snoke, in the books, or some similar concept. Maybe they answered to Kylo and not Snoke because their association together pre-dated Kylo's force training?

And that way the armor would make sense, like that's all coming from Kylo and his little Vader obsession.

I figured some of them joined him out of fear and to save their own lives. Fearing Ben's raw power. Fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, etc. Fear is the path to the dark side

The Knights are probably just doing their own thing. Think about it. TFA opens with Kylo at Jakku arriving to get the map. He didn't take them with him and only days have passed in TFA and TLJ so he just hasn't had reason or time to meet up with them.

Kylo and Hux 's interactions were one of the highlights in the film for me.

It's not just a Sith thing. Kylo Ren did it to Snoke! Maybe he became their master by wiping them all out :)

Admit it. A lot of you are just mad that Making Star Wars was wrong about this scene ;)

They werent wrong. The Art book confirmed that there was a scene in which Kylo goes to ahch-to. The concept art shows multiple troop transports landing on Ahch-to and Kylo, Rey, and Luke in the mirror cave with their lightsabers activated. And Adam shot some scenes on Skellig Michael. Plus Rian has said that there were some big Ahch-to stuff that was left on the cutting room floor.

Yeah the scenes where he's talking to Rey through the Force and Luke catches them like two teenagers who just got caught by their parents while they were playing spin the bottle.

The Ach-to stuff that was left on the cutting room floor was Rey running on the beach because she believes pirates are invading, but they are just the males of the caretaker species having a celebration there with Chewie and R2D2. This was the "Third lesson" scene.

All the stuff about an attack with the Knights of Ren on Ach-to was wrong.

Bless you.

Honestly, I think the Knights of Red were a vision of what could be if Kylo Ren/Ben took power on his own. It's a futuristic premonition from Rey versus they attacked the New Jedi Order Temple.

After "TLJ", it appears Ben did everything on his own.

Except that Luke says that Ben took a handful of his Jedi students, killed the rest and destroyed the temple. One can easily assume that turning said students happened overnight or by Ben solely without the input of each new "recruit" he brought into the fold. And I think that those converts had to take part in the killing and destruction as well as a matter of course.

Something tells me we'll never hear from them or see them again.

Clearly it wasn't since there was concept art depicting the FO troop transports landing on Ahch-to and Kylo Ren and Luke and Rey in the cave with lightsabers ignited.

The scenes Adam Driver shot on Skellig Michael were the scenes where he was having a Force pow-wow with Rey.

I'm not talking about concept art, I'm talking about set reports indicating such scenes were filmed.

EDIT:

Getting back to Knights of Ren, if they do appear, I want them to treat Kylo like an annoying little brother and clown him for getting bested by Rey multiple times. It could be funny :D
