Solo Donald Glover IS Lando Calrissian

I was watching one of those recent THR Round Table discussions on YouTube.

Lando was in the building.

Damn, pretty crazy! Just give him a haircut and you've got a young Billy Dee :wow:

They do look strikingly similar

Plus I was listening to his song Redbone the other day and it felt like Lando was singing to me. Part of me wishes he was getting his own disco inspired musical spin off. Or spin off in general really

I love this, Glover is my idol. First Donnie Yen in Rogue One and now this? Incredible!

Damn, that's some good casting. He was born for this role

Ha, that's awesome. I wonder if Ehrenreich has spoken with Ford? Part of me thinks Ford might have just sent a note or something saying "Do what you want with it. Good luck" and not much else. :p

They have talked.

I can't imagine Ford giving any good advice for some reason. :funny: He'd probably be like "don't embarrass me."

I hope there is a lot of meat on the bones of the Lando/Han friendship. He looks so perfect in the trailer but I worry this could end up being like what happened with Urban as Bones in the first two Trek reboot films where they had the perfect guy playing the role but criminally underused him.

He looks perfect for the role! Just hope they give him the material to take this character to the next level.

Pretty much. "Make sure they pay you lots of money. Now, get off my plane."

It's like when Tom Hardy wanted Mel Gibson's blessing before doing Mad Max: Fury Road, supposedly Hardy kind of dragged him out to lunch and Mel was bored and just like "yea go ahead, whatever".

I think it probably also has to do with the younger actors hoping to get at least a little insight into the older person's view on the character they are taking over plus whatever other wisdom about making these films they can lend.

I just know Glover is going to kill it as Lando in this movie! It's one of those things where he didn't really do anything in the teaser, yet just seeing him for those split seconds got me all pumped up! That's no slight against Ehrenreich. It's just that Glover pulls off the look of Han much better than he does of Han, which, again, isn't his fault. Ford's Han Solo is so iconic and therefore just can't be replicated.

LOL, really? I've never heard this story. That's pretty funny though.

Words cannot express how much I wish Donald Glover was leading in a Lando Calrissian film instead. He's the bright spot in an otherwise dull looking film to me. I hope he's great in it regardless.

I'm sure he's going to nail it! The Force is with him! :woot:
