I never took to Geoff Johns. Always felt there was something off and entitled about him.

I never liked his writing either. He can't write a decent Batman to save his life.

I think this is when they finally got Affleck out of DCEU. (one year ago)

as that is going is going on right now a kind of he said vs he said. As fans we are expected to pick a side. I dont personally know any of the people involved. Ray Fisher, Joss and the crew. The court of public opinion is a trash court to be honest. guilt is always applied first.

A lot of ZS fans are watering at their mouths to crucify Joss. i say have fun cuz nothing is going to stop them from doing that.

Fisher just gave them what they wanted. more reason to hate the guy. Im not defending Joss he can go kick rocks for all i care. im just disappointed that the overflow of hate is going to continue for a long while.

Talking crap about the SV.....- disrespectful?...yes...unprofessional?...yes.... gross?...well...just look at him !
unacceptable? sure, ... but totally subjective and personal. different people will tolerate different amounts of "abuse"

Q: Is a Drill Sargent "abusive" or instructive.? If you don't have the Army mind-set...he is incredibly abusive...but to his platoon and himself, he is doing his job. (just an extreme example)

After pouring your heart and soul and hopes into a project just to have it sh*t on by the studio and hired gun... it's not unusual or unexpected to have hurt feels and major disappointment, especially for such vocal and loyal Snyder lovers like his cast and crew!

If Berg and Johns, "enabled" this by joining in, it is as I said earlier, the new guard tearing down the old guard. WB and Whedon's team with Berg/Johns wanted a different film. I am sure they were met with lots of resistance. tempers flair. things are said and done... there is a lot of pressure and deadlines...ugly situation overall...

Whedon may have been curt, dismissive, gross, exhibited bad taste, rude, indignant, aggressive, hostile, ill tempered and antagonistic...and still not be racist or even personally abusive.
Remember the stories about the a*s Jon Peters? He was always trying to show his dominance and would even use his lame karate on cast and crew to "keep them in line" Idiotic but not unheard of. Hollywood is full of little men and women who puff up to prove they are not just little, insecure and frightened deep down.

Is this a BLM situation? So far it is not panning out that way... and that is a good thing.!

I think people may have read into this a lot.
en masse, IMHO, people are dumb animals. They leap before they look. Follow and pile on before they know anything. Misinterpret and misunderstand most of what they see and hear. simple farmers, people of the land, the common clay of the new west, ...you know... morons...

Nobody here is interested in spreading hate but you gotta wonder.. many people involved in the reshoots (Kevin Tsujihara, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns, Joss Whedon, Toby Emmerich) were they acting professionally and doing it because it was in best interest of DC fans or Zack Snyder or they had some other interest in their minds ?

I think everyone should just be conscious about what they post and not treat every new piece of gossip as the new "truth".

The other day, "Whedon, supposedly, locked Gadot in her trailer, threatened to take WW away from her."

Today, it's "Whedon and his crew were talking s' about Snyder's JL."

What will it be tomorrow? And I'm very cognizant that it can be all true but it can also not all be true. And when the truth is out and it turns out not to be fully true, are the responses gonna be, "okay but look what he actually did do" or is it going to be the typical, "oh we're on to another thing now."

I dont know, i have seen too much weird stuff to take any rumor etc serious when it comes to anything Zack Snyder related.
From doing movies a certain way just to spite snyder(shazam), to reviewers allegedly having an agenda against snyder, insiders who want to ruin snyder and so on.
Thats what i always say, the snyder fans have shot themself in the leg long ago with many things.
The downright hate for anything not snyder, this idea that everybody who doesnt worship him or likes his stuff...is too dumb and doesnt get it.

People are so desperate to paint Zack Snyder as some kind of crusader against DC,WB,Hollywood and everybody in the industry...that every new rumor about how things have gone done allegedly, leave me with a unsure feeling.

Sure im not a fan of the Higher Up and Johns, none of them imo should have given Snyder the keys to the kingdom in the first place, so they lost my trust already there.
But still, some of the stuff is way too much of a conspiracy theory for my taste.

That this all turned pretty ****ty is obvious, but what really happened is probably impossible to say for sure unless everybody involved tells the same story.

i think "Whedon and his crew were talking s' about Snyder's JL." is more than just a gossip since it came from someone in the industry. it's still hearsay so it can be not be true though.

I don't doubt Snyder was done wrong by WB during filming of JL and am glad to see him come back to at least right some of those wrongs. But everything leaking now is from the pro-Snyder camp and skewed toward that POV just as I'm sure the anti-Snyder camp leak rumors skewed toward that POV. Everyone seemingly has an agenda and some of these accounts, both for and against Snyder, probably includes some level of inaccuracy.

Thing is, Snyder wasn't described as a raging ***hole. At worst it was said that he made another BvS-like movie.

Is the removal of the theatrical cut permanent or is it a licensing thing? They have been removing a lot of things temporarily.

Agreed, just look at Jeph Loeb with Marvel TV, responsible for Inhumans, Defenders, Iron Fist...

Now, Imagine Jeph Loeb with Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter handling MCU, add Avi Arad with them, imagine the result.
Don't scare me like that Dude!

Very Well Said.

I'm not taking about personal behavior with Snyder. I'm talking about quality of work. There is so much out there that might be true or not true and who is the one stating it?

Reddit recently posted a link to an old Tracking-Board story by Neil Turitz from November 2017. To paraphrase, he says a person involved with the reshoots said they had to do reshoots because the film Snyder shot was unwatchable.

Ironically, that same person claimed an actor didn't say their lines as written and Whedon sternly reprimanded the cast and put an end to the practice.

So in that one article you have Snyder's work described as being unwatchable and Whedon being stern and uncollaborative.

Both might be true, some of it might be true, none of it might be true.

Tbh I think Ray should shut his mouth at this point, if he isn’t going to elaborate on his accusations then he’s literally just trolling at this point. Put up or shut up I say.

I feel so conflicted about all this. If people were wronged, the truth should be out there and yet this is casting such a big ugly, negative shadow on something that brought so much joy to a lot of fans just 6 weeks ago. And by all accounts Ray seems like he’s just rolling up his sleeve and prepared to go the whole 9 yards with this.

yeah we're gonna need some specifics from not only Ray himself, but any cast and crew that will come forward and share their experiences if he's just gonna keep piling on.

Read the room. It is for sure relates to BLM. Fisher took the treatment of his character personally from a black man perspective and he clashed with Whedon on set about it.

In support of Ray, I feel he is either being ill advised or unadvised. He should let sleeping dogs lie at this point. To keep throwing gas on the fire is not good for his career or personal life IMO.

IF there was extreme abuse on the set that is verifiable and agreed by other cast and crew, abuse that went beyond ego and big boss-manship, then there needs to be more detail and nuance. The descriptions so far do not reach that level. Sounds like simple disgruntled cast and crew (understandable) being "forced" to redo their work again in a way that they do not agree and this caused harsh feelings. Rays overly zealous support of Zack may be contributing to the overreaction IMO. He should maybe take a step back. Rethink his words and elaborate or explain for his own good. He may want to work for someone other than Zack in the future...; )

What room?
I would not personally consider that a BLM issue... but I could be wrong.. Clashing creatively is not racist IMO. Treating his "movie" character disrespectfully is not a crime, just ask Mark Hamill.

I get Fisher probably took the treatment of his character personally given that Snyder gave him input and made him the soul of his movie but unless there was some actual racial discrimination involved I just can't say any of the suits' are racist (I can call them ass*oles, though). His reduced role is an unfortunate consequence of having to cut runtime in a film that adapts a super-team that was created with literally no people of color (originally) and where Cyborg is a new addition and thus perceived (economically speaking) as the least important character. Which is a social problem that should be corrected, but not one you can put the blame on a particular person, imo.

It is never boring in this damn fandom, is it?

And here we go. The "I never liked him anyway!!!" posts that are always so helpful. These are about as useful/necessary as Barry's faceplant into Diana's chest.
