Kristen Wiig IS Cheetah

They seem to be going for a hybrid of the New 52 Cheetah and the one from the Golden Age.

I wonder how comedic Kristen will be in this movie. There's something unintentionally hilarious when she brought up her experience of falling in love too many times in the trailer. And I wonder if I could take her seriously here in this movie.

All of these "First look at Wonder Woman battling Cheetah" clickbait articles have to be stopped. I've been fooled a dozen times thinking I'll get to see the proper Cheetah reveal dammit!

Here we go again with the "let's do all the fight scenes in the dark so we can hide the crappy CGI"...smh. WW riding the lightning looks cool though.

It feels like her arc will mirror the way Burton did Selina, the CGI when she goes full Cheetah looks really ropey.

Maybe it's the best they could do with the available budget? From what I've read, it's not much higher than the one from the first movie. And Cheetah needs a lot of CGI to do it right, imo.

She also seems too reminiscent of Electro from Amazing Spider-man and Riddler from Batman Forever, with a nerdy fan of the hero becoming the enemy when they feel slighted and ignored by the hero.

Honestly, I feel like majority of Cheetah could be accomplished with makeup and then jsut add fur to her. WW84 as a $175mill budget, Planet of the Apes had $150 and gave us very realisitc animals. Cheetah should look more convincing then she already does.

I guess some directors simply are much better at handling characters with the least CGI possible. The ones like Del Toro, who gets great results with prosthetics, puppetry, animatronics, etc. And, of course, a bit of CGI.

I think Cheetah looks pretty good. The whole point of the spots is camouflage too and she wants to be an "apex predator".

I don't mind the final Cheetah design (although it's perhaps a bit ... "pale" for me and I'm not sure about her "human" hair being nearly the same colour as her fur).

But, the CGI model needs work. Even relying upon the same tricks from the first film (set at night, minimal sources of light, inclement weather effects), Cheetah doesn't seem to have any real "weight". Given the character design, I don't see why Wiig or a stunt double in a furry costume, prosthetics and makeup couldn't have been filmed jumping around on wires (and the wires digitally removed).

I fear that the climax is going to be another lackluster "video game" battle between two CGI characters.

As much as I prefer the were-Cheetah design, I would have taken an Alex Ross-esque Cheetah "suit" if it meant the final battle would be between two actors and their stunt doubles.

I do hope that Barbara's characterisation is at least as strong as Selina Kyle's in Batman Returns. From the trailer it's coming across a little too simplified - Barbara wants to be pretty and popular like her friend Diana. The line about being an "apex predator" doesn't really fit with the rest (and seems an odd thing for a gemologist who is friends with a goddess to aspire to being).

Her hair is blond in before she goes full Cheetah so I would assume it’d stay that way in the final form. I kind of like it. Part of me hopes WW uses her lasso a lot as I like seeing that yellow light up against Cheetah in the trailer.

I'm happy to say that her animal appearance turned out much better than I was expecting.

I like the sort of "mythic monster" take on the design.
