As someone who can’t stand Grace, I feel like she’s way more honest and believable for news like this than a bunch of nerdy college kids who get together via zoom every day. No offence to the nerdy college kids here lol.

Starting to go back to my old mentality. That Batfleck will be done soon and is looking for an exit plan instead of re-launching his Batman **** for 4 more projects. The only way Ben signs on for a HBO series is if a script is completed (won’t happen until after JL), he reads it and thinks it’s perfect. He was being rather fussy on his own script which had many drafts. What makes people think he’s just going to sign on to something that doesn’t even have a completed script?? I’d be more inclined to believe this story if they said a Deathstroke series is in the works and Ben MIGHT agree to play Batman in a smaller role (like The Flash).

Right now the only thing that makes sense to me is Ben agreeing to do one more Justice League IF they let Zack continue his vision. That way Ben can go out on a conclusion.

Jared Leto to Play Joker in Zack Snyder's 'Justice League' (Exclusive)

Looks like Leto is getting the last laugh as he joins the shooting of additional scenes for the Snyder Cut.

Zack Snyder’s new Justice League cut is getting some killer laughs.

Jared Leto, who played classic DC villain The Joker in 2016’s Suicide Squad, has joined the reshoots for the “Snyder Cut,” the filmmaker’s definitive version of the 2017 superhero movie he was forced to exit and he never saw through completion, multiple sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

They are also confirming shooting is underway, so Grace may have got that one right as well.

Wonder if Leto is going to be filming knightmare sequences.

I think one of the big reasons he dropped his Batman film was what happened to Snyder. Seeing up close how another directors vision was being butchered must have made him question whether he might get the same treatment.
Look at his experience in the DCEU; BVS, SS and JL each had more studio interference than the last. Based on that pattern, why would he want to risk pouring his heart and soul into a project that might get gutted.

Big yikes!!!

"Jon Berg and Geoff Johns, then-studio executives who oversaw the movie and the reshoot by Joss Whedon that was meant to salvage the failed movie, will not be receiving producer credits on the Snyder Cut, sources say."

Not only that rumors have it that when Snyder stepped away they first asked Ben to head the DCEU and he wanted to continue with Snyder's vision so they went in another direction.

I'm OK with Leto returning. I wasn't huge on his portrayal in SS, but I saw some things in there that showed promise. We'll see if they shift a bit for JL.

As for Ben, I definitely agree with Aurakles. That had a major factor in it. His personal life and addictions had a role to play as well. It was obvious he was on board with Zack's vision. No doubt Ben had some input as well. I also personally think that all the re-writes of his batman script was caused by disagreements with GJ. That's purely speculation of course.

I guess we're getting that Knightmare sequence with Joker Zach mentioned awhile back.

This is the first bit of news that has me pondering the possibility they really are setting up a continuity within the HBO MAX service for future projects.

I can't imagine how Leto would be necessary other than that purpose.

I wasnt a fan of Leto in SS, I’m just gonna go right and say it.

But.

I’m cool with this news for two reasons: 1) Leto’s being directed by Snyder not Ayer this time which means we’ll likely get a different performance outta him. 2) this likely means we’re getting a scene (or scenes) of him and Batfleck interacting with each other.

When Leto was first casted as the Joker I got excited, because I thought he could easily knock it out of the park, but what we got in both versions of SS was beyond disappointing IMO.

If they can at least give him something to work with this time and a good script than I'm cool with it, because the potential is definitely there for him to do something great with the role.
