Black Panther: Wakanda Forever General Discussion and Speculation Thread

nah sequel be called
Wakanda v Superman

The fact that "Wakanda Forever" is in much bigger letters than Black Panther in the title, that could suggest it's more a spin-off, but trading on the Black Panther name or letting the audience know it's Black Panther adjunct. It definitely seems they've emphasised the "Wakanda Forever" title far more.

I wanted Black Panther: World of Wakanda for the title but I think the "Wakanda Forever" title is fitting. I think it's a good nod to Chadwick.

I like the title and like the idea of exploring Wakanda more, I just hope they aren’t going retire the Black Panther mantle.

An absolutely iconic line for a subtitle. My only issue is that, unless Marvel plans to end the franchise after this, where do they go from here... Black Panther: Wakanda Forever... er?

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and Ever

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and a Day

W’Kabi could also have a redemption arc and possibly become The Black Panther.

Maximize the talents of Academy Award Winner Daniel Kaluuya in a bigger role.

We should probably get some more info and casting news for this soon too since they're looking to star filming in July

That's why I thought it would be a good trilogy ender, but given the circumstances it seems perfectly appropriate.

I'm getting the feeling the focus of this film will be about Wakanda and not about the actual Black Panther mantle. I wouldn't be shocked to see them focus heavily on the period between the Blip and Endgame just so they're not having to deal with T'Challa's future right away. I don't see the point in completely shelving T'Challa permanently so hopefully they use this as a breather in the franchise for the cast/crew to continue processing Boseman's death and come up with a better way to carry the character of T'Challa on.

The period between the Snap and the Blip would seem to be the best setting. However, that would mean that some of the BP cast wouldn't be able to return for this film as they would've been snapped as well.

Unless her absence was just a government coverup for some reason... Okoye and Nat had their communications but it looked like Wakanda was mostly keeping to themselves during that time.

At the very least it would mean no Shuri either..

Not having her could be a small sacrifice if it allowed them to cover the period after the Snap and mourn the loss of their king without having to make a direct reference to Chadwick Boseman's passing in real life but still acknowledging it indirectly.

Just speculating here, but perhaps the Black Panther franchise will end as a duology.

That could easily be the case. It'll be easier to continue without Chadwick that way and don't have to address his absence as much.

If he's Namor (and we'll see if he is) it would be really interesting.
I was/am pulling for an Asian Namor but either way I'll be glad to see him in the MCU finally.

Are there any Hispanic characters in Black Panther's lore?
