Black Panther: Wakanda Forever General Discussion and Speculation Thread

That is an ugly-ass design, to boot. It looks like one of those clunky kids' watches made out of hard plastic that dies within a month.

I feel like the best option they have is to set Black Panther 2 during the 5 year snap. That way, they don't have to think of an explanation for T'Challa's absence as they already have one. Presumably Wakanda must have been protected by a Black Panther during that time... it couldn't have been Shuri as she was also snapped. We got to see a little of how the remaining Avengers lived during those 5 years so it would be interesting to see how life was in Wakanda.

That would be a good idea and they can even talk and mourn publicly in the film over T'Challa's death (and the death of many others including Shuri). But then maybe they do want Shuri in there, but not having her for the next film could be the price they pay for smoothing the transition and leaving T'Challa uncast in BP2. Then they can get her back in BP3 along with a new T'Challa actor in the role.

imho Australia would’ve been a better location. The final fight scene between w’kabi’s rhinos, the Dora Milaje and the Jabari looks so like Georgia and not Africa.

Black Panther 2 is trending on Twitter because people are saying they don't want to see it without Chadwick Boseman. Initially the deal-breaker was re-casting T'Challa. Now they don't want the film at all because Chadwick is gone. This is why business or storytelling decisions aren't usually made based on Twitter hive minds and their emotional responses.

No T'Challa, no watch for me. Sorry.

And this is coming from someone who has been a black panther fan for 15 years and how the character of T'Challa changed my life at a time I was deemed as an individual that would never prosper in life.

They have over-sensationalized this man's passing to death and would probably use this as a marketing ploy for the sequel which won't sit well with me.

Next it will be that people don't want to watch the MCU if it's without Chadwick Boseman, and then soon demanding that all Black Panther comics dating back to the 1960s be amended to reflect Chadwick's likeness, and then eventually changing his name from T'Challa to King Chadwick of Wakanda.

I saw this culture crave bull**** because captain marvel etc were trending the last few hours.
And its infuriating and pisses me off.

Why do some do stuff like this, those "choose one to get rid off"? Its pathetic.
I dont want to get rid of any of those and i find it insulting.
Why not have them all, why should we not have any of them?
Why cant we have as many comic book movies as possible?

And its just sad that some clearly havent understood the message Chadwick and Black Panther was telling.
I get that Chadwick was the heart of the character and all, but acting like its all worthless without him is insulting his legacy.

Maybe lots of people hadn't even heard of the character before the movie and so they could only associate him with Boseman. But he's been around since the 60s and for half a century was never even remotely associated with the actor. So it's not like the actor is bigger than the character and therefore no-one can ever recast or have a film without him.

This is only just now a trending sentiment? Most black folks I know/knew around the time his death was first reported said they weren't going to watch any sequels and they might as well cancel the MCU Black Panther franchise, and I'm just like "wait, I thought it was Wakanda forever". Of course it sucks that Chadwick and this mainline T'Challa (I'm still sure they'll pull an alt-universe recast down the line) is gone, but I'm honestly more intrigued in the story now, especially since it's not like the cast gave up and quit; it was always the idea of the country that grabbed me at first more so than whoever is in charge of it.

Lol from Wakanda Forever to T'Challa Never

I have been a fan of Lupita Nyong'o since 12 Years A Slave, so I hope Nakia ends up taking the BP mantle (but not necessarily the crown) so that we can see her in future team up movies like the Ultimates.

I would’ve called the series Wakanda Forever, but this has probably something to do with legacy of The BP. It always be Wakanda Forever, even after the tragic fate of T’Challah

So the official title is Black Panther: Wakanda Forever?

In an ideal world, Wakanda Forever seems a more fitting name for the third movie in the trilogy, but it seems perfectly appropriate here as a title. (And that logo does look pretty fresh, can't lie.) Also means we could expect a trailer by year's end.

I imagine the series will be World of Wakanda, if not making the Finding Wakanda in-universe film/series from Far From Home an actual thing.
