The Dark Knight Batman's Theme Music in TDK

That's not the theme. That's an action score.

As of a few others have said, I think its when Rachel arrives at Bruce's party, then she leaves, and Bruce runs off inside Wayne Manor to the batcave. The score in that scene is only in that scene and isnt even on the Begins score. I think they wanted to sneak it in.

Or I think the very end of Barbastella, and the music that takes place at the end of the Prologue very well could be the theme. But not Mollosus. That's more of the chase theme and action part of the score and that takes up a decent part of the movie. JNH and Zimmer said they barely introduced it.

The piece that builds up to Bruce opening the vault with the suit may be unique, but the music that plays when the vault is opening can be heard when Bruce fights fake Ra's and the monastery gets blown up.

No, I don't think that was the full piece. They added that part when he opened the vault to close out the scene. I think that buildup is heroic and part of the actual Batman theme that they both said they "hinted" at in the movie. Hinted at isn't playing the entire theme during the Batmobile chase as is the case with Molossus.

So I think its the running to the batcave inside Wayne Manor theme as is listed here:

Or the final part of Barbastella which is in the prologue as well and when Bruce is inside the Batcave and basically overcomes his fears and decides who he wants to be.

Or the music when he's inside Arkham.

This is Zimmer's Batman theme:

download

It was featured prominently in BB's trailers (particularly the 8 minute Smallville preview), the Molussus track during the Tumbler chase scene and Zimmer himself confirmed that it is present in the end credits music.

I disagree with you. I think that was a key theme in the movie, but it isnt the theme. Hans Zimmer said specifically that the reason they didn't use it alot and there WAS NO THEME ON THE RELEASED SCORE was because he felt Batman hadn't earned it yet.

I really don't believe it's Mollosus. It's like the Phantom Menace. It has a damn nice action and epic theme, but it isn't the theme of the movie.

Phaser's right, though, Zimmer himself has confirmed it.

This is what Zimmer said:

In the score to the first film, the main "Batman" theme only shows up towards the end, kind of like a springboard for the second film...
Absolutely, that's the whole idea. It's Batman Begins! There's a whole theme that's written and on purpose not in the movie. We were basically betting that this movie might work out alright and there would be another one, so we wanted the character to develop. He hasn't earned that theme yet!

I'm kinda thinking that the batman theme is probably the bit of music playing when he's called in the bats at arkham and escaping, it's only in that bit and in the credits too, it certainly fits the bill too, sweeping, heroic and rumbles along like a freight train lol oh and if you wanna hear it, it's not on the soundtrack, but it is the second link at the top of the page, from the guy who posted this thread.

Yeah I remember that interview. Zimmer himself through those words confirms it's not Molossus.

The site where I got the quote from Zimmer is called SoundtrackNet (www.soundtrack.net). For big scores they often visit the recording sessions. They also had an article about Jablonsky's Transformers score. I hope they will do the same for TDK.

I think it's going to be a mixture of both pieces of music. Perhaps the Asylum/End Credits music is the introduction while the new and improved Molossus is the body of the theme.

Isn't there already a thread for the soundtrack

The only one I could see was about a missing track from the BB OST.

I felt that this thread was different enough from that thread for there to be a separate one.

And if there is a thread regarding TDK's soundtrack in general, then I missed it.

I asked because I wasn't if there was or was not, it just surprised me there wasn't one already.

I remember Zimmer stating in an interview that he had introduced a theme at the end of BB that he intended to use and develop in TDK. My question is, which theme was it.

Was it this:

I am a big fan of the BB sound-track, and I personally believe that the song on the second link was so underused in BB. It was also the first song that played when the credits rolled.

What do you all think?

In the first link: time code 00:40-00:60 would make a could base for the theme....

And actually the same time code, 40 seconds into it to about a minute could also work as a good base for a theme in the second link...

or perhaps a mixture of elements from both pieces... :brucebat:

a little something ive worked on... see what you think!

I preferred the quieter moments in the music than the more bombastic ones.
Eg: The card flip, turns round "and you'll never have to" or batman clinging on the side of the building with the binoculars, the louder moments like the car chase seem effective, but alittle repetitive after watching the movie a couple of times.
