Infinity War Could Infinity War get Oscar consideration?

Do you think Infinity War could get Oscar consideration as far as nominations in any categories? Given how this film well a film of this magnitude is going to be or will be and this being such an all star ensemble...this has been years in the making I can see it getting nominated for an Oscar especially if it breaks records like Black Panther.

Technical awards maybe. Major awards, no.

For costume design, cinematography and all that then yeah I can definitely see them sweeping categories but as far as Best Actor, Best Supporting it is possible you never really know

None of that really matter when it comes to the Oscars. X-Men has some big names in it and X-Men 2 didn't get any looks. Avengers 1 would have likely had a better chance because it was a never before done event.

Black Panther is likely to get in the conversation. It was a really good movie but I think they will be pressured to have it involved.

The MCU movies don't need snobby awards to be considered great.

Tech awards but nothing else. Look the snobby academy don't really like these movies, Even though you are supposed to honor all film right Hollywood?

They don't really even nominate blockbusters like they used too, they nominate films that no one watches & forgets really quickly now.

If the film isn't seen as important to social commentary like Get Out, or Wonder Woman(even though it got no noms) then 9times out of 10 you not getting in. They see these Avengers films as just more Hollywood destruction porn.

Now I do think if there was any mcu film to ever get nominated for something other than tech awards it would be Black Panther. I can see them giving it noms in costume design(didn't SS get a nom & win this? Undeserved if you ask me), cinematography, score, tech, etc.

Also, I think if TDK came out today it would definitely get a best pic nom. They gave it a best actor nom & win(totally deserved)& It is the reason the bestpic nom spots were expanded in the first place. Shame it never got in. But yeah your superfilm has to be seen as important or not like the rest in the genre(like Logan, WW, BP) for them to even look at it.

They didn't even look at Avengers 1 even though it broke records because it wasn't seen as "important".

It's just the way the academy works now.
