The first picture: interesting how Mary and Freddie side with Adam and let him use Shazam as a punching bag, unable to fight back.
What can the backstory be? Just some sibling rivalry?

Who would you pick for the role of the wizard? :)

Joel Schumacher's Batman 2 :hehe:

Batman/Bruce Wayne-Alec Baldwin

The Penguin-Robert DeNiro or Robert Duvall

Catwoman/Selina Kyle-Madonna or Demi Moore

And with Kim Basinger, Michael Gough and Pat Hingle returning as Vicki, Alfred and Gordon.

Following the general/main storyline of Hamm's Batman 2, Penguin and Catwoman out for money and treasure, but with a lot less violence and darkness (particulary in Catwoman's portrayal) and a lot more goofiness, Penguin and Catwoman colorful villains from the start, also probably some playing up on Penguin trying to flirt with Catwoman but, though not a freak, knowing he's probably too much older, there being some attraction between Batman and Catwoman but him committing to Vicki, maybe Catwoman realizing Penguin is too evil and wicked for her.

I actually forgot to cast that role. :funny:

I guess I could see Richard Harris as the role of the wizard. :yay:.

At that point, he was still young enough to appear in several Shazam films.

Schumacher would have also played up the humor of the Penguin apparently, outwardly being a suave, sophisticated gentleman who a lot of people thought was harmless or charming and he actually had contempt for the people he was charming and fooling.

A very good suggestion!!!

Maybe some Dumbledore vibes though.

I considered Peter O'Toole for my film, in case you wanna know :)

Just a tad old during the later years in life. Looked very fragile.

I really want to watch that classic as well. It will happen soon, I've bought a dvd :)

PLOT TREATMENT

based on Greg Berlanti’s original script

Open with a VOICEOVER...

“Not only are we not alone in the universe. For years now, we’ve known of a group of EXTRATERRESTRIALS who protect our universe and keep us safe. We don’t know where they come from, or where they get their power. But we know this much...they’re good.”

The voice is revealed to belong to a WEATHERED MAN in his 60s who we will come to know only as ‘PIPE.’

Cut to FERRIS AIRFIELD many years ago where a YOUNG HAL JORDAN watches in horror as his father MARTIN, hero pilot, dies during a routine test flight.

TODAY.
Green Lantern ABIN SUR is speaking to his fellow Lantern TOMAR-RE when he is suddenly attacked by A MASSIVE CREATURE blocking out the sun—the size of a WHALE with MECHANICAL TENTACLES and a shark’s killer grin.

This is LEGION. And we FEAR it.

Abin Sur is MORTALLY-WOUNDED in the attack but manages to fight off Legion long enough to make his ESCAPE to the nearest planet in his sector so his ring can select his SUCCESSOR—

HAL JORDAN is re-introduced in the midst of his own fight for life as he desperately flees from an angry MOTHERF**KING HUGE BOYFRIEND of a woman he slept with the night before.
  • The character beats are largely similar to Martin Campbell’s film version including Hal’s STRAINED RELATIONSHIPS with his off-and-on girlfriend & colleague CAROL FERRIS and his DISAPPOINTED FAMILY including his brother JACK, with the exception of his ADORING NEPHEW NATHAN.
Next, we get our first glimpse of the Green Lanterns’ PLANET HOME BASE OA where the intense & dedicated SINESTRO has just been informed that Abin Sur has fallen. He requests some kind of action from the GUARDIANS but is refused, which makes him only more INTENSE.

HECTOR HAMMOND, the story’s human (so-to-speak) villain is a formidable foe first introduced working for the FBI as a PATHOLOGIST. The bespectacled-nerd gets no respect from his colleagues nor his jerk boss BROOME but someone clearly likes him because Dr. Hammond has been handed a TOP-SECRET ASSIGNMENT to perform an AUTOPSY on the body of Abin Sur, just after he has passed his ring onto to an amazed (and confused!) Hal.

Hammond is then introduced to Pipe (our narrator from the opening) who oddly refers to the deceased Abin Sur as “A FRIEND.” Pipe gives Hammond THREE HOURS to determine what caused the Lantern’s demise. During the examination, Hammond becomes INFECTED by GLOWING SHRAPNEL—a piece of Legion.

Meanwhile, Hal has only begun to investigate the powers of the ring he has bequeathed by the dying purple alien when Carol arrives to take him to dinner. That’s where he has his inevitable showdown with the “MOTHERF**KING HUGE BOYFRIEND which Hal naturally wins with a ring-created TEN-FOOT GLOWING GREEN FIST.

After the fight, Hal is TRANSPORTED to Oa and gets the ENTIRE RUNDOWN on being a Green Lantern—from meeting Sinesto and Tomar-Re, to having his first run-in with Lantern DRILL SERGEANT KILOWOG, to being given a COMPACT HISTORY of the Green Lantern Corps.

Hal also briefly meets Abin Sur’s widow LIANA, and lies to her in describing Sur’s last words as a pronouncement of his love for her—Sinestro confronts Hal on this in the next scene, unable to understand his EMPATHY & COMPASSION and thinking that it will only serve to cloud his judgment.

In his history lesson, Hal is told of the DESTRUCTIVE POWER of Legion and returns to Earth, skipping the traditional Lantern COMBAT TRAINING with Kilowog at first.

Back on Earth, Hammond begins to develop TELEKINETIC POWERS and uses them to ENSLAVE his boss Broome.

Hector attends an AIRSHOW at the Ferris airfield where his father SENATOR HAMMOND, a former pilot and astronaut, is at the controls of a jet for an exhibition. Hector mentally assumes control of the jet and delights in the power he temporarily has over the man whose shadow he has existed in his entire life even, as the jet clips the wings of two others in the senator’s formation and starts to spiral out of control.

RELIVING MEMORIES of his own father’s tragic demise, Hal races to retrieve the Lantern power ring from the glove compartment of his Mustang and makes his FIRST PUBLIC APPEARANCE as the GREEN LANTERNas he rescues the two damaged jets and catches the senator’s jet in a GLOWING GREEN NET.
  • Hector becomes ENRAGED and pushes forward with his own powers to counterattack Hal’s, causing one of the jets to CRASH into the CONTROL TOWER where Carol and Nathan are observing the show.
  • Carol risks her life to protect Nathan but an EXPLOSION from the crash sends her hurtling out of a window and to her death, but Hal CATCHES HER in time.
Emboldened by his powers, Hal begins battling crime and saving lives ALL OVER THE WORLD—even taking a detour into space to rescue an ASTRONAUT on the INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION—as his fellow Lanterns gear up for a showdown with Legion.

Meanwhile, Hammond embarks on a CRIME SPREE with Broome as his helpless assistant and he uses his illegally-gained fortune to make a grand entrance at a party at the NATIONAL AIR & SPACE MUSEUM. But none of it is enough to impress his DISAPPOINTED FATHER.

As the senator is giving a speech, Hector INVADES HIS THOUGHTS and LEVITATES him with his powers. Just then, Pipe arrives with a DOZEN ARMED-MEN and pleads with Hector to stop. Sensing that he won’t comply, Pipe orders his men to fire but Hector TELEKINETICALLY DEFLECTS the bullets upwards—instead ripping through his father.
  • The senator uses his DYING BREATH to tell his son that he always loved him, which is enough to drive Hector into a GRIEF-STRICKEN RAGE he turns on Pipe.
Hal hears of the CHAOS at the museum and comes to the rescue. Hector quickly gains the upper hand by SEIZING CONTROL of Hal, and uses his power ring to INCINERATE Pipe’s CAPTURED MEN.
  • This is enough to make Hal doubt his ability to honor the legacy of Abin Sur as one of the Green Lanterns.
After a HEARTFELT CONVERSATION with his trusted friend THOMAS KALMAKU (who knows of his super secret), Hal returns to Oa to learn more about the ORIGNS OF LEGION—the terrifying result of the Guardians’ attempt to harness the POWER OF FEAR.
  • Long ago, The Corps managed to capture Legion—not without HEAVY CASUALTIES— and IMPRISONED IT until the Guardians could forge a YELLOW RING powered by FEAR that will finally allow them to keep the beast at bay for all time.
Hal requests assistance from the Guardians to help him fight the threat of Hector Hammond, who carries within him a piece of Legion, back on Earth.
  • The Guardians refuse because Hal has not yet completed his Lantern training.
  • Realizing that the planet will suffer unless he acts soon, Hal REMOVES THE POWER RING and tells the Guardians that he’ll go back to Earth and fight Hammond.
As Hal’s plea to the Guardians fall on deaf ears, Legion BREAKS FREE FROM ITS CELL and starts to cut a PATH OF DESTRUCTION through Oa.

Hal retrieves his ring and gets BACK INTO UNIFORM.

With Sinestro by his side, the newest Green Lantern goes HAND-TO-HAND with Legion.
  • Hal lures the APOCALYPTIC CREATURE into the chamber containing the Corps’ CENTRAL BATTERY and channels the battery’s IMMENSE POWER into a single BLAST that DESTROYS Legion for good.
  • Hal barely survives the awesome ring blast but still has his old cocky personality.
Sinestro and the other members of the Corps are floored by Hal’s WILLINGNESS to sacrifice his life even when they wouldn’t assist him in saving Earth. They vow from that moment onward they will honor their oaths as Green Lanterns and help their newest member defend his planet from the evil Hammond.

At that moment, the once-harmless geek is a MISSHAPEN MONSTROSITY who takes Carol hostage and mentally launches a SQUADRON of UNMANNES-JETS to RAIN HELLFIRE on Coast City.

Hal and the Corps arrive just in time to prevent further casualties.

While Sinestro, Kilowog, Tomar-Re, and the other Lanterns DESTROY THE JETS and rescue Coast City civilians, Hal flies off to save Carol from Hammond’s DIABOLICAL CLUTCHES.

Hector puts his beautiful hostage into ANOTHER JET where he intends to send her off into the sky to perish. Hal offers his malevolent adversary his POWER RING in exchange for Carol’s life.
  • Hammond takes the ring, then goes back on his word and launches the jet. While rejoicing in his victory, the villain realizes too late that you have to be chosen to wield a Green Lantern’s ring. The energy BACKFIRES on Hammond, leaving him a MANGLED and CATATONIC MESS.
Now all Hal has to do is save Carol, but that’s EASIER SAID THAN DONE—
  • His ring is LOW ON ENERGY and the battery he uses to recharge it is miles away. Thus Hal has to climb into another jet and intercept his lady love before she dies.
  • Once she’s in sight, Hal ejects at 10,000ft and approaching the SOUND BARRIER.
  • His PARACHUTE gets ensnared by Carol’s jet and he manages to climb aboard to pull open the canopy and free her before they slam into the side of a cliff.
  • In FREE FALL with mere seconds to live, the TWO YOUNG LOVERS share a FINAL KISS and—at the final moment—finds the willpower within the ring in time to become Green Lantern and hasten their deadly descent.
With Hammond FOREVER INCAPACITATED and the world saved for now, Hal finally acknowledges his responsibility as EARTH’S PROTECTOR and a member of the Green Lantern Corps.

In the next-to-last scene, Hal meets up with Pipe, who is now revealed to be none other than ALAN SCOTT – the FIRST GREEN LANTERN OF EARTH.
  • Scott wishes Hal well and implores him to EXPLORE THE UNIVERSE and all the WONDERS it contains (in so many words).
The film ends with Hal joining Sinestro in EARTH’S ORBIT and the two Lanterns streak off into the INFINITE VOID to find ADVENTURE on the thousands of planets that await their arrival.

GREEN LANTERN WILL RETURN.

STORY / CHARACTER NOTES

Selina Kyle is already living as a Gotham City socialite at the beginning of the film. In dialogue & flashbacks, her origin is developed throughout the film.

catwoman-style-sheet-darwyn-cooke.jpg

Leslie Thompkins is the head nurse at an East End free clinic who’s known Selina Kyle since she was living on the streets. In overly-simple terms, Leslie is Catwoman’s “Alfred.” And, as such, knows Selina is secretly Catwoman.

  • A junkie overhears this factoid & it gets back to Black Mask who tortures and later kills Leslie after she gives up Selina’s secret.
  • Black Mask then frames Catwoman for her murder and targets Selina’s loved ones.

Sam ‘Slam’ Bradley is a disgraced former detective who’s now working as a P.I. for hire.
  • Years ago, his corrupt colleagues set him up when he refused to look the other way and ruined his career.
1740938-slam_bradley_just_a_sec.jpg

Philos Zeiss is Black Mask’s eccentric and psychotic contract killer / bodyguard originally brought up by the Sicilian mafia. He wears his trademark vision-enhancing goggles to track the sneaky Catwoman in the dark.

When she’s framed for murder, Selina seeks out Ted Grant’s help to hideout in the East End.
  • Selina regularly trains with Ted in the boxing ring at his gym. He’s a former heavyweight prize fighter—Ted “Wildcat” Grant.
ted_grant_0006.jpg

Det. Harvey Bullock is an antagonistic force in the film but is not a corrupt cop. He’s the face of the GCPD that are on her trail.
  • At the film’s end, Bullock is even shown to be reopening Bradley’s old file.

Catwoman’s costume is an adaptation of her look from Darwyn Cooke’s art in the Ed Brubaker run.

The Flash: Gorilla City (2004)
Directed by Robert Zemeckis
We open on a heist by Intergang, foiled by Wally West. Wally is confident, seasoned and even cocky, having mastered his powers and made a name as the West coast Flash. Barry Allen is still recovering from the events of the Flashpoint. At a lunch together he tells Wally he is getting ready to propose to Iris, much to his protege's joy. With this development Barry is considering hanging up the suit for good now. The first villain of the film is Caitlin Snow, alias Killer Frost. A scientist at S.T.A.R. Labs, Snow is a good friend of Wally West, studying the nature of the Speed Force and a plane of existence called "hypertime". But she does not know his identity as the Flash. She experiences a freak accident which grants her ice-based powers. The accident comes after being double crossed by crooked coworkers, who are in fact members of the H.I.V.E. organization of supervillains.

Snow lashes out and kills the criminals. Wally tries to help her, but she refuses help and flees. Snow is found by the enigmatic hermit calling himself "Grodd". A talking gorilla with psychic powers. Grodd relates to her as a "lost soul" and teaches her how to harness her powers in exchange for her service in helping him go home to the advanced Gorilla City. He also uses his powers to spur her worst impulses, making her more villainous.
Grodd raids S.T.A.R. Labs with the help of Snow, who now goes by the name Killer Frost (named for a past superpowered serial killer with similar abilities). Wally holds back when fighting her, allowing Frost and Grodd to gain the upper hand and steal a device used to analyze the Speed Force. The criminals leave, heading for Africa. Solovar, benevolent ruler of the Gorilla City, contacts Barry Allen and his allies. Barry, having worked with the apes in the past, gives Wally the coordinates to the city and travels to Africa with him. Iris West and Linda Park, having compiled reports on the various metahuman and alien civilizations encountered over the past decade (Krypton, Atlantis, Themyscira, Mars, the GL Corps, etc.), have already gone to Africa to cover the city.

King Solovar is surprised by the "new" Flash. Barry had not told him about his protégé, though Wally's enthusiasm at the sight of the wondrous city and his capabilities slowly win Solovar over. Solovar elaborates to Wally on Grodd's origins as a renegade scientist and warlord, who tried to take over his city. His latest scheme has been attempting to access Hypertime. He explains the Speed Force used by the Flashes can access pathways between parallel universes, which scientists called Hypertime. If Grodd can reach or even weaponize this extradimensional power, he could lead a conquest of multiple Earths across existence. When asked how Solovar knows Grodd's plan, he tells Team Flash that Grodd's attempts to peer into the multiverse left "traces", observed by unseen beings who then left them for Solovar to find. They have all been "monitored", Solovar says, by beings far more advanced and powerful than them.

Grodd attacks Gorilla City with an army of slaves, armed with advanced weaponry and held in thrall by his mental powers. Killer Frost fights by his side, breaking the city's defenses and allowing a siege. Grodd makes for the city's cultural and scientific center, where his old laboratory rests. He gets ahold of the Speed Force - draining weapon, meaning to rob the Flashes of their power and finally enter Hypertime. In a fight against Killer Frost, Wally is nearly killed until he unmasks to her. Appealing to his friend he tells Caitlin she's not alone, breaking Grodd's mind control long enough to subdue her. Grodd has an almost amicable reunion with Barry Allen, his "old nemesis" from battles past. With his weapons and mental abilities, Grodd holds his own against the two Flashes while slowly draining their power. But remembering what Solovar told them about the unseen watchers, Wally encourages Barry to overload Grodd's device with their Speed Force.

Grodd's machine is overclocked and his mental powers grow out of control. A rip in Hypertime opens, and he tries to escape into the multiverse. But he instead is knocked out by a surge of power from beyond. As his power burns out and he loses consciousness, Grodd speaks in horror of a monstrous entity dwelling outside of their reality. The Anti-Monitor. A catatonic Grodd is put into captivity, Gorilla City is saved, and Caitlin Frost submits herself for treatment. She promises to keep Wally's secret, so long as he pays her the occasional visit. While Wally's powers are restored with Solovar's help, Barry sees his depowering as an opportunity and declines the Speed Force. He gives up the title of Flash completely, handing his Justice League communicator to Wally. Barry packs a ring and meets Iris on a date to propose to her. Wally receives a message from Batman, summoning him to the Moon and the JLA's Watchtower base.

In the post-credits sequence, Barry Allen is woken up by an intruder in his living room. He moves to face the intruder, but it is revealed to be the Monitor, Mar Novu. Mar Novu tells Barry he and Wally prevented a multiversal cataclysm by stopping Grodd. He explains the realm of Hypertime can be accessed by a user of the Speed Force, but at great risk. And that threats much greater than Grodd lie beyond the barrier of space-time. Barry mentions the Anti-Monitor, asking who or what that is. The otherworldly visitor does not tell him. Advising Barry to pass on caution and wisdom to the new Flash, Mar Novu departs, saying Barry and his friends in the Justice League will hear from him soon.

I don't have something to add for the Static Shock film.... but THIS one.... OMG!!!!

Great on so many levels. Too many actors to even comment on.:applaud
Anthony Quinn strikes me as the most outstanding one, I must add! :)

It's a great in-joke to have Bale as Robin. :word:

Batman Beyond (2003)
Directed by Boaz Yakin
In 2003, Bruce Wayne, the original Batman, retires due to failing health when his rescue of a kidnapped woman nearly goes wrong and he must resort to almost using a gun—the ultimate sin in his eyes. Twenty years later in 2023, Terrence "Terry" McGinnis discovers Batman's identity after the aging Bruce Wayne helps him fight off a gang of Jokerz, street punks enamored by the original Clown Prince of Crime. After Terry's father is murdered, Terry seeks Bruce's help to avenge him. Terry steals the Batsuit to pursue his father's killer, a professional bodyguard named Mr. Fixx, whose employer, Derek Powers, the current CEO of Wayne-Powers, is secretly using the company's resources to develop a biological weapon. Bruce Wayne, discovering the theft, deactivates the suit, but when seeing the now-helpless Terry being punched out reactivates it so he can continue pursuing Fixx, and in the end Wayne appears at Terry's house to hire him as a "special assistant".

Interesting with a mid 80s Smallville :)

Wouldn't John Hughes have been a better director?

I notice that you have no brat pack actors :halo:

Probably.

I actually put Donner there to try to place emphasis on the idea that it was connected to the Reeves films.

But in terms of a director dealing with a Smallville like show, I think Hughes would probably have been better.

Good idea to have a sort of prequel to the films :)

Thanks:yay:.

Btw, someone has started a thread in the Misc. Forum, called Cast a movie in a previous time , if you're interested .

I've been posting a Bunch in there recently myself.

Thank you for telling me :)

I think I've seen that before. But there's so little time. I'm struggling with being creative right now :)
