Jack Ryan series (Amazon Prime)

OK so we finally have a date now for Season 2.

I hope the new season cuts down on all the tangent stuff that brought down season 1 IMO. No more freaking drone traffic controllers trying to get abused and punished by kinky married couples at casinos.

LOL yeah that subplot was so WTF. Like, I was fine with them showing the psychological toll the drone strikes was taking on him and how it was setting him on a self-destructive path. But then it was like they tried to be Quentin Tarantino for five minutes and were like, “Whoa, wouldn’t it be shocking if a guy lets him bang his wife just so he can get really riled up and beat the **** out of him? No one would see that coming!”

Woah, just realized season 2 drops this Friday.

Great 1st episode, really like the new intro they gave it.So far I like the direction its going.

Give Noomi Rapace's character her own spin-off show.

Aaaaand the random unnecessary subplot rears its head.

Chidi ('The Good Place') showing up in the 1st episode caught me off guard.

I'm only 4 episodes in, but this has been really solid so far. I really do love how the action/chase sequences are directed in this show, and the plot is pretty intriguing. I also wasn't expecting to see so many familiar faces in the supporting cast this season like Arnold Vosloo or Anthony Head.

Michael Kelley, Jordi Molla and Jovan Adepo are solid additions as well.

Last season folks were saying that the Amazon X-ray feature identified John Hoogenakker as Mr. Clark (Snake) the ex SEAL from the books and not Matice as he is listed. While I never went back for a rewatch on season 2 he is now Matice on the Amazon X-ray

I think that if you drop out the drone operator season 1 came off as more realistic. Even with Sheikh Suliman's convoluted revenge plan.

Another solid season, but I honestly think I liked certain aspects of the first season more, especially the finale. This was still highly enjoyable though, and I definitely can't wait for Season 3.

This season was great but for me I liked the first season more. However this season was still very good.

I put the two seasons about on par with each other. This one gets points for NOT having any especially maddening irrelevant subplots, but I do think other aspects of S1's story was better.

It was the main plot especially Jack Ryan's last fight that was maddening this time around.
They actually had 5 CIA Agents and a marked US ARMY helicopter invade Venezuela's Presidential Palace

Yep, and what's worse,
Jack damn near assassinated the President, meaning he nearly created a MASSIVE international incident just to avenge his friend.
Quite OTT.

Season 1 was better, but season 2 was still pretty good. No unnecessary subplots, but some things I just didn't care for and the first half of the season started pretty slow. The last 4 episodes were much better imo.

Parts of this season felt very Bond-like to me too.

Looking forward to season 3!

I think the international intrigue instead of terrorism fit this season better, but going full Commando at the end was a *bit* over the top.

I'm liking this season, but I just dont buy the idea that Reyes can go on tv and reveal american support for Gloria, and suddenly the people turn on Gloria and the americans. So what if the americans are supporting Gloria? The majority of Venezuelans supported Gloria. The show repeatedly makes a point of this. You'd think the people would be welcoming the americans supporting and helping Gloria beat that piece of **** Reyes. And earlier an interviewer asks Gloria about US sanctions. If the people really want sanctions to end the rioting and supporting Reyes and burning down the US embassy isnt going to convince the US to lift the sanctions.

Also where the **** is Cathy? She wasnt even mentioned.

The Mummy should be the next Matice the next off the grid help guy

Up to episode 4 so far and already there's some silliness in London in the scene with Anthony Stewart Head. The establishing shot is supposedly Eprius headquarters, but everyone here knows that's the famous Walkie Talkie building which houses the Sky Gardens.

Some English people need to make a film set in the US pretending the Chrysler Building is someone's headquarters. :o

Btw this series is really slow and a drag to sit through.

I binge watched it over the weekend and I really enjoyed the political parts of the plot. The last episode was really side eye worthy though. I know we’re supposed to root for them but I was cringing all throughout. Like WTF was that and how is that supposed to be OK? :funny:

Yeah, I really soured on the series after that S2 finale

What happened in the season 2 finale again? I've forgotten already. I watched it before we went into lockdown but I don't remember it now.
