No Way Home Post-NWH: Rank the Spider-man Movies

I WANT to like ITSV so bad! But every time I watch it, I fall asleep from boredom. Every time.

To each their own. I have similar feelings with Far From Home, but it’s all good. We can’t all like the same thing. For me, it’s easily the best Spidey flick, neck and neck with SM2.

On a somewhat related note, I find it interesting people's opinions on Far From Home seem to have changed or outright soured over time. Admittedly, yeah, I think Homecoming is a better film, but more often I'm seeing folks rank Far From Home on the lower end of their Spider-Man rankings.

Though outside of Mysterio, I don't really revisit the movie.

I'm just going to rank the live-action ones. I tried watching Into the Spider-Verse but I just couldn't get into it, let alone finish it. The ever shifting art design (which looks extraordinary) was distracting -- I wish they had stuck with the hand-drawn look. And the plot is ALL over the place.

I really am having a hard time ranking this one because I loved Into The Spider Verse and yet, No Way Home, while not a perfect movie, is a movie that is just so enjoyable on a fan service level. I've seen No Way Home twice so far, so I want to rank based on how I currently feel. I also recognize Spider-Man 3 is a flawed movie, but since i hold it close with the rest of the trilogy, it ranks higher than it probably should for me. as a movie though, it's probably slightly lower on the list.

  • Just perfect, the score, Molina, the effects, the cast, the tone, train sequence, Peter identity reveal to MJ
• Amazing Spider Man
  • Really like the darker tone while still keeping things bright with an uplifting score showing how Spider Man is a character that brings hope even in the darkest times. Andrew nailed it as Peter and Spider Man, great chemistry with Gwen, fighting, web swing, unique use of web shooters, fight sequence in school, and so on
• Spider Man
  • Great cinematography, score, loyal to the lore, and of course Willem
• Into the Spider Verse
  • Simply perfect Spider Man tale, comic book come alive
• Amazing Spider Man 2
  • Love the Gwen/Peter relationship. Great soundtrack, costume, web swing, May and Peters relationship shines playful banter and tragic. Over the top cheesy and colorful enjoyable mess that still hits the emotional. We knew that Gwen would die but still hits in the gut
• No Way Home
  • A unique cinematic event and the culmination of 3 generations of Spider Man. Tobey and Andrew fan service and nostalolgia elevated this film.
• Spider Man 3
  • Enjoyable and entertaining despite its flaws.
• Homecoming
