SEGA/Nintendo enter partnership for next three Sonic titles

Wow, worst trailer ever. Seriously.

Sonic 2006 may have been a weak game, but that thing had a trailer.

Hopefully that reverse holds true, and this will be a great game.

I think Sonic: The Lost World has a lot of potential, it introduces new elements to the Sonic like a Parkour system and the worlds are a blend of 2D and 3D. I actually got to do a preview of the game for the website I work for.

Here's the link.

Oh and the Wii U is totally not dead, E3 will be killer.

Reminds back when the re-releases of the Sonic Adventure games were only on the GameCube. I don't have a Wii U but I thought Sonic Colors was excellent, Sonic being Nintendo exclusive for a while is kinda unfortunate but also makes a lot of sense!

Sonic Lost World Lets You Share Items With Other Players Via Miiverse. October 10, 2013 . 1:33pm

Sega have shared more details on their upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS game, Sonic Lost World—specifically the cross-platform items in the game called RC Gadgets. These are remote-controllable special items that have various effects on Sonic in both versions of the game, and on Wii U, a second player will be able to control them if you wish.

The Helicopter, for instance, will pick up otherwise impossible-to-reach coins and also drop bombs onto foes below. There will be some 30 different Remotes to collect, and In the Wii U version, players will obtain them by competing against strange alien Omochyao to collect a set of rings first.

The 3DS version will have Tails’ Laboratory, which is where the Remotes were originally invented. Players will be able to craft exactly the type of Remote they need on the 3DS, and then send it to their Wii U version to be used there if they so choose.

It’s also possible to “release” Gadgets into the Miiverse, and naturally also find and use someone else’s RC Gadget via the Miiverse network. To encourage this, Gadgets you choose to release into the wild will eventually return after a set period of time—even if others have used it already. It’s win-win.
There’s also a new Color Power unveil in the form of Black Bomb. It seems the Black Bomb is tied to utilizing the Miiverse option above, though exactly how it works or how to obtain it has not been made clear. We do know that the Black Bomb can be leveled up, increasing its powers.

Don’t forget that Sonic Lost Worlds has been delayed a week in North America. It will be out for the Wii U and 3DS October 29th rather than the 22nd.

Prolific video game cover artist Greg Martin has passed away, a personal friend announced at the NintendoAge forum this week.

Martin illustrated many iconic video game covers throughout the 1990s, establishing distinctive looks for Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog series characters and Namco's Pac-Man, in particular. Many Sonic the Hedgehog games released stateside during the Sega Genesis and Game Gear era bear Martin's cover art, including Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic Spinball, among others.

Martin created cover illustrations for several Hanna-Barbera and Looney Tunes-licensed games during his long-running industry stint, and his art also adorned the covers of acclaimed classics like Landstalker, Shining in the Darkness, and Little Nemo: The Dream Master. Several examples of Martin's work can be seen at NintendoAge.
